Default Recent Spout of RS Cars being Stolen.....

Guys and girls,

I have noticed all the RS cars being stolen recently and someone mentioned Pikey camps being close by most of the locations. Also the vehical that was seen did look like a typical pikey vehical.

Now this reminded me of something. Around 1 month ago I was driving my Escort Cosworth through a small village around 20 miles from where I live, Out of no where appears a 4x4 Warrior in a light blue colour and the drivers waving like a mad man to get my attention to stop. I pulled up along side the driver who asked if I wanted to buy a chain saw in a Irish accent, he said it was cheap lol.. Straight away I know what this is so refuse, all the time he has stopped and trying to sell me the chain saw he is looking the car up and down. He starts to ask me questions about the car, bet thats fast, dont see many of these around anymore etc etc.. The questions started getting a little too much so I set off on my way not really thinking anymore about it.

Now the recent stealing has been going on I am starting to think more of this. My issue is guys, this might not just be related to this area, it could be a thing that all of the pikey camps are starting to do and see the RS cars are good money.

I have no idea what camp he came from as it was not my area but he paid just that little bit too much interest in the car for my liking.

Anyway guys, anyone who notice pikeys moving in or long term residents please take extra care of your cars. I would suggest not posting too much info up on these sites and maybe using different usernames between websites so its not so easy to track you and build information.

I bet that pikey who stopped me went over that area with a fine tooth combe looking for my RS thinking I was local to the village.

Be very careful guys, pikeys do not fuck about.

Thanks

Mark

1-PD is right, old cars without proper modern security (although, if they want it badly enough they'll take it) and that are worth money, easy pickings for them.

all i can say is get trackers fitted, im going to be getting one off ebay asap they are only £100-150 and considering the thousands we spend on these cars its not much to fork out to avoid it being stolen is it, and after seeing on here the recent car thefts especially the escort that wasnt even a complete/finished car as mine isnt finished nor in movable condition either really but like you say if they really want it they will have it and i dont think an alarm or keeping it locked in my garage will do much help either ive already had 2 attempts on my car of which has messed the drivers door lock up a bit

I will be honest, I am not going to make it that hard for them that they have to come in my house with the kids. It has enough security on her, if they get around that then so be it. Dont go risking yourselfs gents over some metal. That can be replaced.

my friends focus rs that has just been recovered was parked on a pikey site for a couple of weeks . then was put on the wrong number plates and driven to a secure compound . the police had a tip off that it was being moved and said what they do is park them in the unit and leave them until they need parts off them .

So, you think that all the pikey sites/camps/groups in the country are all connected, and there's a conspiracy among them to steal RS cars, specifically

Seems legit?

They all know each other and all trade with one another .. All camps have connections to each other ... Don't need to be old cars with old security . You can legally buy a device off the net which plugs straight into your cars obd which overrides factory security turns it off and starts car for you ... No need for keys .. There is a vid on u tube of a brand new m series BMW being stolen using one of these 3 mins start to finish no noise ..

But I don't think they are a country wide organised crime ring, with an intelligent, military spec communications system, and targeting RS vehicles

If they know what they are doing, couldnt they disconnect or rip the tracker out before they move it?

Nope, me neither but people talk, if they know another group of lads made good money stealing a old Ford which has limited security and made a good wedge of money then they will follow suit.

We all know pikeys are not the brightests bunch but I am sure when it comes to thiefing they are alot better at it than all of us put together. They also have 100% balls and know they will get fuck all if they get caught. My local pikeys have a bog old back off a 20 ton lorry which is always closed up. Could have anything in there, the police will not even go on the land let alone raid them. To easy for them

Has been known for people to come down in the morning and find just the tracker left on the drive with a small battery attached to it. Car gone.

The saying goes, you can only slow them down. If they want it, they will get it. How much of a struggle do you put up? do you want them to come into your house with your family? I wouldnt

trackers wont stop a car being stolen, just help recovery.

wont help with pikeys though.

you arent going to go onto a pikey site and take your car back unless your numbering 10 plus with a heavy load of firearms.

and the police wont get your car back either because they are cowards and are afraid of the backlash so no chance of them going onto a gypsy camp site to recover one stolen car. You would have to wait for a formal operation against them and thats unlikely unless they have lots of sound evidence its a crime group.

i wouldnt sound so cocky.

they would just ring your door bell or kick your door in and take the keys at knife/gun point.

Only way he would stop them is if he came to the top of the stairs with 12 inches on the flop and a big can of KY

not being cocky or trying to sound like a keyboard warrior but they would have a nasty shock if they was to break my door in, the dogs barking and slamming themselves at the door in the middle of the night should be more then enough of an alarm for any 1 attempting to break into my house, and them dogs sure know how to wake me up with plenty of time when that happens (drives me mad some nights when its just drunk people walking down the road)

Exactly what happened to an old mate of mine, i'm going back to 1998 and he had his 90 spec Escort van pinched and the police knew exactly where it was and told him that they can't get it back due to the location it's at and the best thing to do is go through his insurance, massively out of pocket but they never recovered the van. Which was a real shame as it was about the best looking mk4 Escort van i'd seen at the time

So the best thing to do in the real world, would be to get an agreed value insurance policy... However, if your my age, that on an rs would be stupid amounts of money.

dogs are easily dispatched with a sawnoff or a bladed weapon.

Even if you heard them kicking down the door, what are you going to do? Youd have to be as nuts as me to be prepared to take several pikeys on or as skilled as steven segal

Silly thread really . i wouldnt say most of the cars going missing are the pikeys . there more like people who know people ,or people who need the parts. That white van in the other thread is just another white Van . i own 3 white transits but im not a pikey

As said above insurance .

I could hide my 3 door for a few months ,say its be stolen . Cash in on the insurance then cash in when i break it . WIN WIN

what we really need is to do what the french did and throw them all out the country back to ireland where they belong.

I cant think of any positives to britain by allowing irish travellors to stay. All i can think of is negatives.

the irony is a lot of the negatives and problems pikeys experience in this country are their own fault. eg they whinge about literacy problems making it hard to fill in forms etc. What the fuck did they expect when they move around all the time so thier kids cant get an education??? Same with consistancy of healthcare etc etc etc. Especially same with the negative reaction and hatred towards them. do they think us "house dwellers" pick on them for no reason? no, we hate them because of the trouble they cause in the vast majority of places they live.

nobody miinds the old fashioned travellors who go round in horse and cart etc sharpen knives, do country craft etc etc and accept them as part of our heritage.....

its just the scum we hate

The parts are worth a pretty penny being rare and in demand. I can see why they would make a decent target.

Plus a pikey spends his life stealing and brawling so have no fear in trying to pinch them, police have a nightmare with them and they will be more than happy to throw punches or worse with someone disturbing them.

Best bet is not to have the cars on show, and if you are heading home, use common sense, if someone looks iffy and is following you, circle the block and see what they do, if they follow, sod off on a detour and loose them before coming back home.

I had some gypo's years back try to get me to follow them so they could buy my motor (which wasn't for sale). I was trapped in so had to follow them so far, then at the first opportunity booted it away.

yea but id still feel better about myself knowing that i didnt just hand over the keys to 4 years of work and thousands of pounds i spent on it from hard work over that period of time, i dont think pikeys would break in with shotguns for keys unless they was looking at stealing a ferrari though, would look rather stupid in the newspapers when it prints FORD SIERRA OWNER SHOT DEAD FOR A CAR THAT WEBUYANYCAR.COM VALUES AT £300.....but then you never know

Sadly as said you will never beat the car thieves, you can only slow them down. If they want something, they will go to all means necessary.

ALL methods of security can be beaten. Even trackers everybody praises about can be jammed with a simple device anyone can get hold of.

So then you have the people who put bollards up, there was someone on here who used to chain their cossie to a lamppost! Even if you think you car is the most secure and unstealable, they will just kick your door in and take the keys.

Its a sad world we live in, but with the law on their side, theres not much we can do about it.

mickeyrobbo you are 99% right. However GPS/radio and GSM signal jamming just isnt as simple as using the £10 ebay cigar lighter "jammers"

Proper jamming devices are available but are prohibitively expensive for all but supercars and in reality unneccesary as theres simpler ways to "skin a cat"

A lot of modern cars are seemingly easy to steal as well, the latter part of your statement could not be more true.

Or can they Japan have devices that ejects flames from the side of the car, obviously, in our nanny state country, such things are illegal.
