Default Thanks Mark Shead...

As above, not really a big up person BUT i want to say a massive thanks to Mark for building a great engine for my Evo.

I've used Mark on my Evo's cossies etc for 8yrs or so now so i knew it was in good hands, basically it'd had work done on it and it wasn't great to say the least.. so i took it to Mark who kindly did leak down tests, boost checks etc and to finally find after stripping the engine down from a noise we both heard to see pistons wrongly machined to different sizes, loose gudgeon (spelling) pins etc..

So i decided and said to Mark will you build me a nice new lump and of course he said yes and now i have a nice 600bhp engine, Vi- -pec and goodies to match.

Anyway, i'm waffling so i'll get on..

Mark text me about an hour ago to say it's off the Dyno and it's made 420bhp and 427ft/lb, now the good part, that's ONLY on a 80series Turbo for now and MR Cams.. which imo is fantastic as MR Cams are pretty mild to say the least, Mark sais it goes great on the road so to say i can't wait to collect it tomorrow is an understatement...

I had been considering in a few months to get a TT S209 for the car which is a stock framed Turbo that'll do 500-530bhp, BUT as mark says, this power is just great for my needs which is a road car, BUT as you lot know me, it'll probably end up having the 209 before xmas..

So thanks for letting me bore you with that, but i just wanted to say great job to get those numbers especially the torque from MR Cams..

Lot's Different issues Tim..

Lol, Kins, you gotta love him, tbh mate 420/427 will be plenty for me, that's 60bhp and nearly 70ft/lb to the car i dropped off... AND so much scope for more if needed with this engine too..

Mark's great, total no nonsense sort of bloke, just who you want to be building you an engine, it gets done right (eventually ) or doesnt get done at all, not all done on the cheap for maximum profit like some "tuners" out there

Shame Pete

400/450 with equal torque in an Evo though is, lets be honest, perfect road car territiory. It will do everything very well bar topend runs.

I only mentioned that turbo as he mentoned standard frame. Much rather go full frame if going 600hp plus.

Tim,

I personally think the 209 is the only stock frame Turbo to have, well it would be for me anyway mate, yes i know the FP Range have come along away, but i'm still not convinced, i know i shouldn't think like that

I think the 3076HTA seems to do really well, at least under Gary's hands from what I can see.
Its all down to personal preference now I guess. So much choice out there.

FP HTA
BW EFR
S205 Range
Garrett GTX
Blouch
etc etc

Just don't go to far with it as to ruin it as a road car
You know many do and end up with something that's just to much for the road

Best get that police scanner jamming device fitted.

The price for Pete's will be different as (I imagine) his is a plug'n'play

Eta: Sorry to hear about the shoddy previous rebuild, but excellent news on the new power. I'm sure you'll have no need to up it anymore
