Duratec 2.0 litre,any good?Mk3 mondeo engine.
Been looking at some dirt cheap mondeo estates on the 'bay but I won't go near a tdci model as I know too many people who've had major issues with them so spotted a 2.0l duratec LPG for pennies which had 350000 miles on it!!!!
I quite like the cars interior and design plus they don't seem to rust too badly but I know absolutely nothing about these engines.
Usually a ford petrol is a pretty tough motor but I seem to recall someone on here saying they burn out pistons etc?
Id say with the miles above they can't be too bad but you never know.
Any thoughts welcome.

I'm a big fan of the passat tdi but anything under 1,000,000 miles seems to be silly £££.
Why below 150000 then?although I suppose your into timing chains etc then.

mazda engines are normally fine, its the bits that Ford bolted to it that are crap, inlet manifolds, engine sensors and ECU`s that fail
they suffer with rings when people run them low on oil
