I just misjudged the braking distance that was required to proceed ROUND the roundabout, so I can't see how 4wd would prevent a repeat occurrance - only experience will do that.

Obviously photo doesn't show sump ripped off, engine moved back hard against bulkhead, rear wheel up inside arch (bent beam from the "landing" 
) and the banana'd chassis at gearbox lever point .
If you're wondering how the chassis rails have dirt in them off a brick lined roundabout, then ask Bill. At one point all we could see through the windscreen was how nicely the grass had been cut as the car nearly did an endo .
