I am collecting parts to get my 3 door to stage 3 with closed loop over the winter, is a p8 ecu worth the extra over a level 8, I already have a wasted spark driver in my level 1 so will be removing that and fitting in new ecu. I also have a pf09 ready for the conversion. Think all else I need is 3 bar map, lambda with fitting and wiring and green injectors. Have a 500 cooler and s111 stage 2 turbo technics t3 with -31 actuator already. I am also thinking about fitting the knock sensor on the block as well. Just before I spend my money I just wondered if I would gain anything by paying extra for a p8,

I bought a new stage 2 turbo technics t3 so sticking with that for now, with boncaster I have finally got them to accept greens so cant go any bigger on my classic policy, I have shopped around and can't find anyone to insure it close to my current premium of £188 with any more mods and not worth paying £350+ for a car I hardly use. Will see what ecu turns up over the winter at a good price as think I will get good results whichever I get.

simple t3 set up running greens realy wont see any gains in a p8
even a l8 isnt required for that kinda set up
theres plenty good maps available for l1 and l6 for that set up
if you've already got any of the above ecu's dont waste money upgrading
as it wont get you any gains

To the OP, no I don't think so really, so far as I know L8 can do all the things people want, i.e. ALS, LC etc.
