Default IMRC Missing?!

So, my ST200 had started coughing and spluttering recently and having read up a bit on this i thought the imrc was probably at fault. Decided to investigate today so whipped the bonnet up, removed the plastic cover and found...its missing!! And i dont mean disconnected, i mean theres a big hole where the thing should be! What the hell is going on? I do have another as it happens but, typically, i cut the cable to get it off the other car thinking, foolishly as it turns out, that id have one of those!!

Any ideas?? Why would someone remove this and how is it even really runing without this?

Inlet Manifold Runner Control

I would've thought that it not being present would be bringing up the EML light unless it has been removed and the car is running only a standard manifold and been remapped to run this but really strange as to why.

Are you sure its missing and not just relocated. Its quite popular to move the unit to under the battery tray to reduce the influence of heat from the engine.

Are we talking literally underneath the battery tray, so I'd need to get under the car to see it?

Yeah usually under the battery, that's where mine was located to, look for a cable on the back of the inlet on the right hand side and find a long black cable and follow it you should find a silver box approx 100mm x 100mm an that will be your imrc
