lets some air out of the tyres for a bigger foot print, take any uneeded weight out of it, and practice, pratice, practice. What car do you have? rear wheel drive? 4 wheel drive? Front wheel drive?

What car do you have? fwd/rwd/4wd? what power/weight?
I wouldn't use 2nd gear, you could possibly kill your clutch or gearbox.
If you get to the start line 1st it can give you a few extra seconds to compose yourself, rather than rush if you're 2nd.

Reaction times don't add to your 1/4m time so go when you're ready, don't rush and end up wasting a run.
try shallow staging.

Sorry it's a series 2 escort, Not sure on power because I'm still on my running in map so I'm only running 6psi or so..I've got a 4 paddle clutch if it's helps, I want to see my times on this map then it's on agai next month so I'll get back up to Norris Motorsport for a proper map and hopefully run around 280bhp ish.

Thanks, Joe

u wont have enough power for 2nd gear launch and probly do the box and clutch, just do sum runs and see how it feels every car is different , put semi slicks on it and start with 15psi and go down to 10 or 8 and see what difference it makes , find the bit hold it on the handbrake at 4k ish and then go for it

2nd gear burn out helps if u can get it goin lol
