thanks for the kind offer, tonight i may be driving to go and pick up a new box direct from pete and going to fit it with my mechanic this w/e in the hope we can get it sorted and get it to MAD to be mapped and get it back before ford fair.... gonna be tight

I feel for you , I got done over by tim finch a few years ago, bought an r and d 6 speed dog box and it turned out to be just that, ie a dog of a box, and to make matters worse just like in this case he got a guy to deliver it to a friend in the midlands and it then turned out when things went wrong with it that Tom finch had sold it to the guy who delivered it and he had in turn sold it to me without actually telling me upfront when I handed over my hard earned cash

You can never be too careful when buying non standard items and you would nearly have to treat everyone like a con artist.

Stu, you are way out of line on both forums, I have sent gearboxes & parts around the world without problems. It boils down to being a decent honest human being, even Chris's "friends" say he is a prick with a terrible attitude!!

What he has done is indefensible morally or legally, why not just sort it out like he should do than drag it through court & incur himself more cost & trouble?

I don't see how you can stick up for him, Ad has obviously posted this to a) provoke him into actually communicating, and b) stop other GENUINE members getting ripped off!

No one wants to go public, but somtimes it is the only option!

Awesome, not surprised stuff like this happens when people on this forum have such a supportive attitude. If someone did that to me the box would be through their front window, or similar, hopefully that would be 1500 quid for them to worry about or maybe a little less for the scrap value of the box.

Looking back through the sellers history over the last year, he has a amazing amount of funds passing through his hands selling real top end stuff and only last year he commented on a ford fair picture taken as it was of his mint aub escos, if I were the DWP i would have investigators on the case as he has sold more in a year than most earn in wages in a well paid job, a stand up guy would simply repair or refund the box and move on

i think you are getting a bit out of hand here. the story is that your acquantance sold a fucked box to adam for Ł1500. i know people that would throw you of a multi story car park for a lot less. i think a full and final refund is more than liable in this case.

Bit surprised at this. Even if the seller genuinely didn't know about the problems he can't just pass the buck onto the guy he bought it from. He should have taken the box back, given a full refund and then taken it up with the guy HE bought it from.

I was in the process of buying a full mk1 Focus RS conversion off this guy and didnt bother in the end, because he was a bit cheeky in a text, after i requested better pictures of what i was buying to which he said "look mate, im not gonna have the time to take pics. So you can make me an offer"

If i where you Adamski, i would do what a friend of mine did a few months back - he bought a type 9 gearbox, which turned out to be the completely wrong one....to which he wouldnt refund the guy i know. So this fella ended up fucking the gearbox through the back window of the wankers sierra lol
