Ive just built a fresh pinto for our track car, it's running forged pistons, ported head, oversize valves, cam etc. I'm also using fireblade carbs with the needles on the middle setting an the jets re-drilled to 2mm going by advice from Bogg bros, the problem I have is it won't rev clean past 5.5-6k it splutters etc and won't go any further. It's also running the fireblade pump and a Bosch electronic dizzy, the dizzy is wired pos/neg straight Off the coil with new everything else, I have tdc'd the crank the lined the rotar arm up with the notch in the dizzy case but the car won't start and when it does it hardly revs where it feels so retarded? So I need to advance the dizzy just to get a response from the engine. Do you think I could have an issue with the dizzy or bob weights inside which isn't allowing it to rev out? Any help is greatly appreciated

yes mate the cam has been dialed in correctly, then the rotar arm is lined up eith teh groove in teh dizzy case but it wont start as it seems to far retarded at that point so you have to add more advance to get it to start then add a bit more to make the engine responsive, im think the dizzy is knackered ?
