The JPS one wasn't officially called a John player special, the RS3100 was an RS though

And the "rs3100" was actually officially called a "Capri GT 'Spa Francorchamps' " (sisters fella used to be part of running the irish capri club events in the early 90s, as well as breaking Capris, and had one of these so called capris....and he explained what this model of capri was all about inc. there being a sticker stuck somewhere on the car, stating that it was a 'spa special'! When he had his, it was one of three that came to ireland!! The reg is TEC 147M and is still in ireland but is currently being restored)
Ohhh and with him being old school, he claims there was no 'proper RS' after the mk2 escort rs2000, as the "modern rs cars" came with sunroofs - which he deems as gay lol

That's a beauty, I remember seeing both a mk1 rs1600 and a twin cam in a factory unit near Kidderminster, the owner was restoring them, hope he got them finished by now. Best rs by far. I wouldn't sell my 3 door but if my numbers came up would be interested in one of those to go with it. After I bought a house with bigger garage.

If people deem them as utter scrap or not a proper RS, well they may as well include the rest of the front wheel drive RS line up. Because thats what it all boils down to with these "purists"!!

Me being me I always thought RS was top of the range, in this case it isn't as the Escort cosworth was available at the time. I feel ford lost the plot around 93, mk2 escort is a nice car.
Mk5/6 to lame for an RS badge, non turbo, non exciting......how can the RS1800 be an improvement on the Fiesta RS Turbo?

To be honest the majority of the RS cars are just a brand marketing ploy!! There has only ever been a few RS cars built for purpose. The rest are just run of the mill junk, for fan boys!

I think the only thing that decides how much a car is worth is what people are willing to pay for them.
Obviously people are buying them at this price or the values would drop.....

RS200 - because its is a road based missile! Add to this to the fact that most people have no idea what so ever what it can do! I would be just about as good as it gets to take something like that round Scotland's cost .... fast A road to the windy b roads and little traffic.... heaven on earth?
did you see James may and his drive of his child hood dream car the countach

The performance of this car at the time would have been great. I think it's unfair to compare it against cars on todays market........

To be honest i dont see the hype of a s1 escort rst. Rotten, slow pieces of shite and command a massive premium, yet a s2 is basically the same...yet they command a fraction of the value!! As i said, only a few TRUE RS cars exist. The rest is just a sales pitch

Ultimate Green Mk2 Focus RS. Very fast (that can be easily improved on), stunning looks, serious road presence and modern comfort.
