Looks amazing!

Also, love how people comment on the video "oh tell me how it works" Yeah, he has probably worked years to program it all and you expect to just be told? Faggots.

By the sounds of it, the bloke whos Impreza its on in the video worked at Prodrive developing the WRC engines

Shamelessly copied from S2 forums:

The item you refer to is known as a "rocket". This device is fitted to the header just in front of the turbo and works as a sophisticated anti-lag system.
Air and fuel are fed into a combustion chamber and ignited by a spark on over-run, it can be used in three stages (depending on how long you want the engine to last) and is the cause of the load banging noise that can be heard as these cars pass by and the flames coming out of the tail pipe. This system is used in conjunction with the boost pack which stores excess pressure in it's own reservoir to be fed back into the engine inlet side of the inter cooler when the throttle is depressed after shut off.
All this is coupled to the "flat change" gear shift and launch control system which is of course controlled the the ECU.
Just to give you some idea of prices:
WRC Header £2,200
WRC Turbo £10,000
Boost Pack £3,000
ECU £5,000
Engine Wiring Harness £3,000
The "rocket" system was removed from customer cars by Prodrive, and only cars still under contract (S11 onwards) left the factor with this spec.
Hope this was of help

With a 20k pricetag, I`ll rather keep the oldschool setup

I've actually experienced a full bore launch in a S12b Impreza. Its weird to say the least, you give one rev to around 4k to build pressure. The revs then settle to around 1800rpm and the engine sounds rough and lumpy. At this point it's making 3.5 bar of boost then all the driver has to do is floor the throttle and he's away.

Not exactly suitable for a daily driver TBH, would be horrendous for reliability.

Fat better to just squirt in a bit of nitrous IMHO

Thought the easiest way to anti lag is to use a supercharger and a turbo. Worked for a friend of mine.

Im not really sure I would call it "easy" in most cases just because of the amount of space it requires, but yes its certainly a possibility, in fact its what I intend to do to my nova this winter.

or use a small jet engine to directly power a turbo, then you can run whatever boost you like at any rpm!
