the last one was 6 speed with active centre iirc, though you cant go wrong with an FFD, the early 7 speed was awesome also if you can handle a close gate.
make sure you get the correct handset for it for lhd or rhd use

The active centre diff is the handbrake release you also need a grp A power steering pum because the active works of that

You need a wrc active mpc pump and whole kit including accumulator and all the other gubbins. The power steering works off the mpc pump.

OP I would go for a 6speed box if going h patter as its very easy to miss gears with the 7speed and they are not cheap
Also be careful on ratios as they were designed for 4.44 diffs.

I have a 6 speed FFD with handbreak release. I was told the pump are in the gearbox? And I need a oil tank.
Is that correct?

Yes, with the handbrake release box you do not need any external oil pumps. The gearbox oil pump is in the gearbox so all you need is the dry sump oil tank

Jim,

There were a number of combinations with the active hanbrake release, people like Chris Mellors, pete doughty and RED ran the cars with semi active systems, these used a main valve block, accumulator and only one rexroth for the centre diff, the front diff remained passive, they ran those cars with either the 90BAR pump or sometimes an electric power steering pump, they did work ok and gave the advantage of unlocking the centre diff without all the other equipment...

FFD is a fabulous box, loads of cheapish spares still available without paying Xtrac tax....

Yes I've seen that set up ian, and don't like the idea of it to be honest. But must have been ok for rallying other wise the guys above wouldn't have used it! I think FFD had it sorted, active fully or use handbrake release!
