Default Rare/expensive 80s/90s cars

Following this 75k RS500 thread i never though they would be worth that much but if thats where the market it as then all i can say is i wish i had one lol

But got me thinking what late 80 early 90s cars of the same type are worth that (none exotic cars, porshce, jags, ferrari ect)

Theres lotus Carltons but i wouldnt think they were in that price range, i guess other type cars such as pug T16, SWB audi quattros or others that were made or rally or touring cars would fetch simIlar money??

a lotus carlton of that same condition would be big money and quick still stock even by todays standards.

Are there any cars out there that have been built in limited numbers.

Think they would be worth a bit if there wanted.

r5 gordini things are worth good money
There was a group be citroen bx turbo thing that went for good money to.

If something is rare and a following for that certain car then it will fetch good money but the following has got to be there, something with racing history is normally the thing that means something is desirable and fetches more money.

Something like a concorse austin montego is never going to be worth 50k is it lol

The e30 M3 evolution sport is probably the best comparison.

Mark sold the two delivery miles ones for Ł75k each last year, I imagine they would be a lot more now

Definitely a rare 90s car rather than an expensive on. Values will start to climb soon though. They're a future classic

Lotus Carltons are still pretty cheap.

You can pick a good one up for less than Ł20k easily. You would think they would have started rising a lot more by now, but they seem to have hovered around that price bracket or les for years.

I heard of a one owner car with 35k on it sell for Ł12,000 a few months ago!

I have heard this as well, read the other day that a set of brake discs will set you back Ł500, it gets my vote though!

Saying that though, a Cosworth isn't a cheap car to run either!

And yes it was the worlds fastest production saloon car (177 MPH), held the title for years, I should think it was only taken by the E39 M5 or the like.

The Cosworth, however, was the first production car to produce more than 100HP per litre, which is a superior achievement imo, trouble with the Carlton is that it was a very expensive car born in a recession!

Not really, you can have a decent one for 3DR money, they don't really have the fame that the Cosworth has, which is what I think keeps prices high along with rarity value!

I read somewhere, in Redline a while back I think, that some Scandinavians were running stupid amounts of power in them, we're talking 900+, but not even Redline could find anything about them. Thing is, it'd be some rather expensive development

Good shout. Now the classic scoob is a cheap car i can see their numbers declining and the value of the special ones rising quickly.

dont think some of the cars said above (rs1800, cilo, nova, uno ect) will ever reach good money like the rs500 and such.

The lotus carlton seems cheap really for what you get its quicker than the 500 and from what the interweb says there were only 320 vauxhall ones made and 630 opel ones so rarer too??
