Chip I see you go sideways just in front of Lee,
You both looked very fast out there,
I was going to say hello but you were busy with Jay carrying out some checks on the steering so I left you both to it.

It was a Leon IIRC mate.
I overtook him going into quarry on the outlap, went into the bend at what felt to me like a very conservative pace for the corner compared to what I normally go into it in when its wet but the steering jumped away from me and I span out.
Luckily no harm done, and I can only apologise to the seat driver, I didnt expect that to happen at such low speeds.
I had a bigger scare at folly, it went massively sideways on me, will try and upload a bit of a video of it as porkie caught it on camera.
I have since found out why, I only did 2 sessions before deciding it just wasnt upto the job and was being too unpredictable but on the way home I managed to borrow a ramp and a mate of a mate who knows a lot more about clios than me and I can now see exactly why it happened, you'll see it too if you click for the video:

The steering rack mounting bushes are worn which means the whole rack can move, so as I went into the bend it steered itself as a result, which put it into a spin, I went to correct it and the initial correction just slid the rack back without any steering happening then it suddenly bit and went the other way around.

Old Skool drifting during dinner was excellent, they should have stuff like this at National Day.
Some great track action in terrible conditions with Dalsy in his Fiesta being by far the daddy of the track![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)

Turnout was still pretty good under the circumstances and like someone said, it's the first ever wet RS Combes and we have been going since day one.

I did look over at them to wave and say sorry as obviously Id not have overtaken them if I had known how the steering was going to move like that, but when I looked across they were both just looking a bit overreactionary so I just brought it on boost and fucked off away from them instead.

To be fair mate, I left him plenty of space between us after I overtook him, it wasnt like I cut him up, so although im sure it shook him up when I span in front of him, its not like he had nowhere to go and hit me or anything like that, it just meant he no doubt had to brake or swerve a bit etc.

Had a decent day considering the weather, done a few sessions in the pug 205, gutted my dunlop wets were cracked and run new r888's. Was slippery in the morning but improved later on. Gutted for the escort cossie owner, looked nasty. Spoke to the current owner of my old 3 door, nice guy and the car still looks good.

I followed it around for a couple of laps, probably got some video, will have a look.
He wasnt trying at all though for most of the lap, he gave it a bit of a squirt coming out of camp each lap and it left me standing, but then he went back to really taking it steady, which was hardly surprising given the conditions.
Would love to see it used in anger there at some point looks like it has real potential!
