Question Smokey

My frs has developed a habit

When driving in traffic I accelerate ( not hard) in second then as traffic slows I back off, after a couple of seconds when I re apply the throttle I get a belch of blue smoke from the exhaust

I'm thinkiing the turbo could be on its last legs ( done 112k) but worse than this could be oil seals or even rings

Can anyone shine any light, will get it checked out at a garage but would like to be prepared beforehand

Many thanks

Turbo would be my thoughts initially.
You could take off the pipe going into the turbine to see if theres a lot of oil in it.
Or get out on the motorway, hard load in 4th then drop the power off to see if it plooms out the back?
Hard to diagnose really without seeing it.
