Vet Bills
Smokey went to the Vets on Monday to have his yearly booster
He was not very well on the Sunday but thought its ok going to vets on the Monday so he can have a quick look at him at the same time..
When the vet had a look on the Monday he said poor chap he does have a bad problem so leaved Smokey there..
He had to be opened up and have surgery poor Smokey
So the bill came to £380.00
Also found out the insurance company dont let you claim in the first 14 days and had insured both cat and kitten at the same time as we had just got the kitten and insured them at the same time, just my luck for Smokey to go ill after l insured them. Could of been 14 day later.
When l came back tonight found Smokey not to be very well so have been to the 24 hour vets and she found him not to be well and has kept him in to run some test another £290.00.
Just waiting on call now to find out what wrong with him as he was having some blood test done
Really hope he is going to be ok, poor Smokey

We had to have my girlfriend's cat put down a while back
We rushed him to the 24 hr emergency vet because he wasn't too good and told them to do whatever it takes to save him.
£1700 later and it was game over.

On Monday he had swollen Lymph Nodes and problems with his intestines and had to have the fluid drained from the Lymph Nodes
The first lot of blood tests are back and have a low white cell count.
Also Dehydrated so on a drip
She will phone me back in about a hour with the results of the x-rays

I know all about not being able to claim in the 1st 14 days too!
When our GSD, Kira was 8 months old she slipped over and was hopping lame on one of her back legs, so took her to the vet in case she'd broken anything. Luckily she hadn't, but the xrays showed up she had severe hip dysplasia The 6 months free insurance with PetPlan that came free with her when I bought her had just run out, I didn't want to renew with PetPlan so took out a new policy for her with the ins co we'd had our previous dogs with..... it was 10 days into the new policy when the HD was found and of course the ins co didn't want to know. I also thought - if only I'd waited 4 days before taking her to the vet.
Kira is now 4½ years old and shows no outward signs of the HD bothering her yet, but she is on medication, which was costing us £40:00 a bottle from the vet, until I found a place online called PetDrugsOnline where I can get it for £23:00 delivered on presciption. A vet by law has to give you a prescription so you can get drugs cheaper elsewhere. I also get wormers/flea stuff online at half the price the vet charges for it. That shows the huge profits vets make when they dish out medications.

One of my cats went missing about 2 years ago and I didn't stop crying for months. Even now when I see ginger cats I have a look and once or twice I have called them. Ny girlfriend has had her cat for 14 years now and he is the biggest cat I have ever seen. And he talks. I think I like cats a little more than dogs.
Get well soon Smokey, Benni.

This little fella cost me £350 within 2 weeks of getting him from a rescue home just over a year ago.....little blighter ate a mouse whole, it nearly killed him!!!
He couldn't eat as the mouse has basically blocked his intestines, he was constantly sick everytime he tried to even drink so was a on drip, went stick thin, became that weak he could hardly walk, was on the verge of popping it...just as the vet was considering opening him up (has resisted till then as he was still a young pup), he shat out a COMPLETE mouse tail and all!
Tell you now I would've paid every paid I had to my name to save him even though I'd only had him two weeks, he's the best mate I'll ever have

Always makes me sad when i read stuff like this.my missus had a cat called pumpkin.I got her as a present 13 yrs ago and she had a heart attack and died on the 4th of june.that gutted me.I had a little yorkie and he was 17 and a half until i lost him yesterday.i have a massive hole in my life now and cannot stop thinking of him.To say i am devastated is an understatement. He was my best mate and i could not begin to describe how much i loved him.still do.he loved going out in the rs as well.

I know what you mean, I have felt like that myself before, glad hes back at our own vets now instead of the emergency ones we had to take him to.

It was a blockage, a small bit of tissue was where it should not have been causing the intestine to block.
If they can fix it, then Smokey wont be able to eat properly bless him and well we will have to make a hard decision as to what to do for the best.
