Is Ranj still building his car or what??
Come on Rod and Mark
Mike, what about Gareth Lloyd? he would probably still win the handling course

Spec of Imas car sounds great so why not enter it?
Indeed it is BUT its only going to be a road car with a bash at 190plus MPH once at Brunters on final mapping session....All i am doin is proving to myself i can build and spec a YB to 600plus BHP......even more into it now as Karl claims i cant possibly acheive it unless i had his knowledge.

Chip...no Karl claims to acheive 600bhp you have to have a correctly ported head cam choice compression etc etc...its just not as easy as you say.
Reliability will be fine for me as its a road car so it aint exactly gonna be flat out much..LOL...in any case i feel the spec will make a reliable motor for competitions..this is costing a lot of cash now i am adding it up I will perform a freshen up at 10k miles to see the wear..if it will lastthat long...LOL..who the fook knows?...Oh sorry Karl does

Phil. Just think of the shit you could give Karl if you entered TOTB and he didn't all about proven times

Phil, im sure at less pwoer your engine will be reliable, i think carls point was to run reliabley on pump fuel at big power and do so often that you needed to consider other things.
Is your top speed run going to be on pump fuel or race fuel, i dont know anything about the rules for this brunters competitition as it doesnt really seem to interest anyone outside the land of cossies a great deal TBH.

Ah right, well 190mph sounds pretty straightforward then given that.
I have utterly no interest in road cars on race fuel, it just means its no longer a fast roadcar and is instead a slow racing car, i dont like running anything on a strip that i cant run on the road.
Thats just my personal preference though, i dont mind nitrous, cause i use that on the road but race fuel i view as "cheating" (not in this contest, just for me personally as its not longer a road car), although i do use octane booster on the road sometimes (quick top up with 10% toluene)

Are you saying that any new Topspeed record I obtain is cheating if I use Race fuel, well at least it means Martins time dont count. ..

NOS is deffo cheating......race fuel is acceptable for safety reasons, but i guess it should still be on the road fuel map.
MY OPINION.
BUT then taking off windscreen wipers and spoilers and wing mirrors is IMO.
You know Rod to harp on about your car doin quicker times in certain situations than the MACCA F1 is stupid because that was on pump fuel with everything attached?

Race fuel is sooooooooooo blatantly cheating.
It enables cars to run safely at a power level they never normally could in road spec.
Race fuel = Race car.
Would be exactly as safe if the compression was lower, but instead its specced for race fuel, ie cheating.
Does my head in, Cossies arnt too bad for it, but most other makes all use race fuel to get anywhere...

Yup. Then ran methanol at TOTB.
Almost all Skylines do, as they run 8.6:1 comp even when stupid power.
Im not into race fuel one bit, cars built to be used to the maximum on the road, so specced to run full power/boost on pump fuel alone.

Mine was on pump Fuel on the 200mph day as well Phil, will use the race
Fuel map next time though .
I dont see that it matters if you run your car on asprin as long as goes quicker, the Stopwatch dont cheat. .

Nothing to stop a Methanol powered Cossie but a lot of effort & I doubt it will happen.

Rod, for that event i dont view it as cheating, as its in the rules.
But in terms of what i do with my own cars i would view it as irrelevant to my claims of having a fast road car.
My main interest is RWYB days, and its always been my opinion that at a "Run What You Brung", you should "Run How You Brung" too.
Im not in anyway trying to belittle your experience, and in fact quite the opposite, i dont view your car as a 202mph car, if i drove it then i would view it as a 210mph+ car probably, as thats what i reckon it would get upto in real life on normal fuel with nitrous, ie how i would run it on the road.
I view the whole brunters thing as a bit irrelevant, its an ok way to compare cars, but its all a bit of an arbitarary distance which doesnt mean anything to anyone outside of the "brunters crew" so i personally have more interest in 1/4 mile times as you can do that as often as you want at lots of different places.

Also i can compare my car to other supercars & its like for like, it would be nice to have the 5 miles that the Macca 1 took to achieve 240, but it aint really practical so its Brunters until a better venue is found. Ive no idea how fast my motor would go if the length was unlimited & will never find out.
Rod
ps. I have a saying the Bullshit stops at the start of Brunters.

I agree with Rod on this. This is a TOTB thread and it stops with the limits of the TOTB rules. I spose it don't matter now cus I aint building my car, but Karl and I talked extensively about using Methnol. It was going to be done for special occasions. The stuff is pretty pokey though and fucks you up if you get it on your skin and you can't see the flame when it catches light, so i didn't fancy running on it all the time.
In F1 you don't see Paul Stodart telling Ferrari to only spend the same money that he has. I mean fuck, I bet Ferrari's food bill is more than Minardi's entire budget.
Sean.

Methanol is great stuff, me old man uses it in his speedway bike. Mix it with a bit of Castrol R40 and it also smells good too.
