I really am terrible with working out MPG so just wondering if someone can help me out here!

400 miles to a tank. Cost of petrol @ £1.31 per litre. Total cost of filling up the tank £67.00

Next car!

What does this work out in MPG?

29.78 second one

 

Basically get your fuel cost

£67.00 divide it by cost per litre so £1.31 gives you 51.14 litres... There are 4.546 litres to a gallon ... So divide 51.14 by 4.546 gives you 11.25 gallons ... 400 miles divided by 11.25 gives you 35.55 mpg
