Default Can it be a hole in flexi pipe causing my engine problem

Hi Guys,
As some of you may remember I posted a thread about my Ford focus having a issue with the running or of the engine and that there is a sudden loss of power for a second or 2 (only seems to do it after the car has been running for about 5 mins). Now i initially thought it may have been the fuel filter being blocked, still a possibility. But over the last couple of days I've been out in the car and the noise coming from the exhaust is unreal (sounds like a tank) I've been under the car and there's a small hole in the Flexi pipe at the front of the car, could this be causing my sudden power loss, cos I've been told the Lamba sensor in just forward of the exhaust flexi pipe which, correct me if I'm wrong controls the fuel flow to the engine???

I'm guessing now but if there's a hole near this particular sensor then the fuel and oxygen mixture isn't going to be right is it??

If I then replace the flexi pipe with a new one would this solve the problem, or would I have to replace the Lamba sensor aswell.
