As long as its not over 10 years old....(52 plate or newer) BMW will replace the rear subframe FOC if theres an issue. All you have to do is get it inspected by BMW, if all ok fine....If theres an issue they get BMW HQ to give the go ahead and away you go........They know there is an issue with some cars, mainly the SMG's..

I couldnt help but notice when I was in BMW the other day that a full service is now only Ł989. I take it these are a bit of a pig for routine maintanance? To be honest, they seem a bit of a performance bargain. Nice looking thing too.

What people have to remember is disks and pads over 1k, tyres aint cheap especially for 19" wheels. Then if they break they can be expensive especially as some things are dealer part only and need programing by the dealer or specialist?

Yeah they might look like a bargain but i highly doubt you can pick up a nice one for 6500 its like saying you seen a mint escort cossie for 10k yeah there out there but they wont be the best examples.

I loved mine and it never let me down once or missed a beat in near on 2 years of having it but reality is they aint a cheap everyday car which is why the arse has fallen out of them just like the e60 m5

Matinance on them is every 14k......

Oil service-Ł160
Insp 1-approx Ł600
Oil service
Insp 2-Approx Ł800
Oil Service
insp 1
oil service
ect
ect
ect

Then Brake fluid every 2 years at Ł60......

Well thats just over 2 and a half years i`ve had mine and i still love it to bits.

Im so much more relaxed in it than my old cossie.

I hate how people think they can get bargain cars for 6.5k when they don't realize how much its going to cost when it needs its next service.

Chops car was an absolute bargain at 8k.

Oh and tiff im getting the M track mode too, cant wait, its been one of the most annoying things for me when pushing a bit hard, the traction control is just that bit sensitive.

Get a re-map to, was the first thing i done lol

Yer, i find it very intrusive when pushing the car hard....but dont want to turn it off completely....lol......M Track sound make all the difference

As for the remap----I have read mixed reviews and tbh i have found in the past only Turbo'd cars reap the benifits......(But i do like the idea of having shift lights, lol)

When your pressing on you have your traction on? When i had mine it was off and smg in most aggresive, now i aint saying i am sterling moss lol but they go sidewaysand stay sideways sooooo well and so easy to control its a fun to drive. Nothing like me old vx220 turbo that was like a pendulim and you were fighting to get the wheel from lock to lock quick enough so you didnt end up in a bush lol

Just get the traction off and stop being a minge lol

Guessing yours is a manual? Mine had shift lights but think all the smg's do

Yer, mine is the manual......smg's have them as standard.

Dont get me wrong, i have had the traction off a fair bit and like you said, it is very controllable....but the M Track mode is superb and gives you that little more before cutting in...

Well personally i see it as a waste of money but thats just my opinion.

Think of it this way have you had a shit your pants scary moment in it where you thought i think 10% traction control would have made a difference there? I doubt it

I really wanted one too but I've pretty much only had turbo'd cars for the last 16 years and the n/a worries me. It's that thing everyone always says about them "they don't feel that fast but you look down and you're doing ...mph" I'd rather the opposite to be honest, rather my car felt faster than it was. This is why I like my turbos.

Every so often I think I'll get one, start looking then I read the "don't feel fast" comments and then think do I want to pay loads on insurance for something that doesn't feel quick. I just go round in circles.

Also, I've seen vids of them vs the E36 M3's and there's not a lot in it. I've had a couple of E36's back in the day and found them very slow.

Basically I want one with a turbo on.
