Default turbo time

i made myself time yesterday to get my rs out of the garage, washed the dust off (looking real clean now} and took it for a spin, wow, so much better than driving a people carrier, it was the first time iv driven it in a few months and a real pleasure.
what about you guys, do you ever have to make time?

i have an RS turbo as a toy and it brings smiles to my face and also i love the retro feel and the reactions from people when they see it

cant say i rate the driving experience though as i have a focus RS as my daily drive for that

The Sharan is also 90bhp when the turbo works

Its ok from cold and will work until you switch the engine off but if you use it again within 2hrs the turbo cuts out every time you get to about 60mph.

It is like a ritual for me! I warm up the engine, start her up, then reverse HER out of the garage. I then get out shut & lock the garage listening to her all the while, I get in, reverse off the drive pointing her down the road ...... and we are off normally with a big smile from ear to ear...... I feel 21 again!!!

I love driving my S1 - rarely gets used I must admit, very rarely (!). Everyday hack is a diesel Mondeo that during the week rarely gets used as well apart from a Thursday night and my commuter is a 250cc Yamaha scooter.

As for starting procedure I try and let all of them idle for a minute or two before putting under load, try and get all the oilways and pistons lubed first.

i love to get out in the xr2, i don't piss about idling it for long, waste of fuel and some load helps get things warm quicker. stay off boost till warmup drops off and oil is flowing well, then give it death, it's ridiculous though, spins in most gears, too bloody loud and rattles everything inside.
would i get rid? no way, just keep pumping money into it :blub:
