Default quick question about 02sensors

Ive fitted an rs2000 16v mk5 engine in my mk 4 escort cab. Its all running okish but as soon as i press the throttle right down when driving it splutters and back fires.
Its no where near as bad if i slowly put throttle on.
Lambdas are knackered and dont really want them on, so left them disconnected. Also removed egr, iscv, powersteering pump n have no cat as wont need one from age of car.
Would having no 02 sensors be causing this problem??
And can a tuner tune it so itll run right?

Why don't you want the lambdas on for good clean fuel efficient and economical running?! Sounds stupid to remove something if the engines management is setup to run them

If the Ecu is a standard Rs2000 item it needs them for correct fuelling I would have thought, you may be ok with out the cat and post O2senser, Jim or someone else may know for sure.

The very early mk5's didn't run cats they had a sensor for each downpipe pair before they join into one pipe, if your running the standard management then yes you will need to run the lambdas or your fuelling will be all over the place making it run like crap.
