Our garage sold it to him! Last I heard the only major mechanical part its had is a gearbox!
I've never driven to the airport with him, as he doesn't go over 50 mph on the motorway!

I can totally believe it, those old 1.8 TDi lumps just keep on pottering along. My old man ran 2 which had both covered around 400k on the original running gear.

Be nice if ford did give him a new one but then again it would break down within a month

I've got a transit at work got 47 mile on just been PDI'd and it's got no 5th gear, I'm just waiting for prior approval to authorise stripping the box.
Shocking

Fwd 6 spd by any chance? I had one a few weeks ago on pdi that was difficult to select gears, the 3rd gear synchro had been fitted wrong at the factory so I had to rebuild the box, that had done about 15 miles lol, quality!

Apparently it got a new engine 200000 miles ago.
It was used as a "night courier" with several drivers, barely ever standing still. Apparently it looks mint, too. No scuffs or anything...

is that the same box as the new focus six speed? as we have one of them in work with 10k miles on the clock and difficulty/noise selecting thrid gear, all stripped down and waiting on 3rd syncro as on back order..

Could be a good one then lol
From experience though, i wouldn't be expecting too much from a modern Transit engine at that sort of mileage

Not sure tbh, probably based on the same box with a different casing to suit the Focus i would think

True true... The previous model (2000 - 2006) was much more reliable... Shame you can't upgrade them with a particle filter which means they will be banned from most German city centers soon...
