Default MK4 Ibiza Cupra TDi 160bhp??

Has anyone on here had one of these cars?? What are they like to live with??

One of my friends asked me about them and I think they're pretty tidy looking little cars, specially with a bit of a suspension drop... plus they come with Seat Sport branded AP 4-pot brakes as standard, which I think is pretty cool for a wee mainstream hatchback.

Surely they must be fairly nippy given the 160bhp & 230lb/ft in c1200kg of car and pretty brisk with remap potential of c200bhp & 280lb/ft??

Cheers,
Grant

I have the petrol version and love it

Cupra is definitely the one to go for rather than an FR.......Cupra looks better and has the advantage of a factory fit front mount, the APs and the higher power

Remaps transform these cars on both petrol and diesel models, I have stage 2 Revo on mine

Once you get near the 300lb/ft torque figure the clutch can start to suffer

Plenty info on these over on seatcupra net too

Had a remapped one of these in black , great little car abit plasticky inside but not to bad , but I found the ride to be horrible ! The car was on coilovers when I bought it these were horrendous ! So i fitted a standard suspension kit, an still wasnt particularly happy so ended up selling up...

Have to agree with you on the suspension side. Been out in ones fitted with coilovers and really not a fan. Stuck with H&R springs on std shocks on mine

I've had mine for 7 years now. Horrible cars that they are

Suspension is shiiiite, the APs corrode like hell, the wheels are too big, practically no other wheels clear the brakes, interiors are made of chocolate and scratch if you look at them hard.

They're cheap though. And will do 50mpg all day long, even with 286bhp and nearly 500lb/ft
