Name a 200bhp rwd PRODUCTION. Car that's faster than a megane r26r round say the nurburgring .
Oh there isn't lol
Unless you get something like a caterham r500 or a ariel atom at twice the price

now imagine how much better that megan would be if 4x4 or rwd lol and modern serious rwd sports cars are a lot more than 200bhp that's why you cannot name one lol

So FWD cars are better on fuel than a RWD car? So if we had the exact same car, lets say a 2.0 16v Mondeo. So this car is FWD yet if it was RWD the fuel economy would drop?
Also Phil RS said.....You get more transmission losses with rwd cars Sorry for sounding a bit thick here but what does that mean?

fwd cars can't put down the power as well as rwd ones, that is a fact, purely due to the front lifting on acceleration, whereas rwd also lift the front, but put more weight on the driving wheels.
rwd weigh more due to extra diff/prop and a bigger tunnel.
you can't compare cost of a megane to a rwd powerhouse, but consider the top spec fwd car to a top spec rwd car, there is a reason they choose a minimum of rwd.

having passed my test and owning rear wheel drive cars my opinion is you need to be on your game if your going to seriously shuffle a rwd car, factor in wet roads and lots of power and your need to be as sharp as the quality parts in your car,i like fwd now,i like the grip in poor conditions and i find it a lot easier to go fast in,i guess its a confidence thing,im more happy caning a fwd than a rwd but each to their own :L

of course you can its called commen sence plus its down to driving too you see just as many people who cannot drive stuck in fwd cars and even 4x4 cars in the snow! I get about ok in my c36 amg in the snow and have snow socks for the deep stuff I don't get stuck

It's common sense to use them, cause with standard tyres RWD is awful in the snow, of course people still get stuck in all types of car but the fact still remains, in general FWD is easier to get about in the snow than RWD.
