Default Hydraulic handbrake

I have fitted an hydraulic handbrake on my sierra cosworth i've used braided hose and fittings but i can't get the handbrake right. It works a little bit and i've bleeded the car 4 times and there is no air in the systeem. Is there a special way to do this?

Perhaps the master cylinder on the handbrake itself isn't big enough and not giving enough movement on the calliper pistons to fully apply the brakes.

which way have you put the hoses on the handbrake?

first time I put mine in, it wouldn;t brake at all, just pust the brake pedal up if I had it pressed, and thats how I found out it was not connected right!!

as said, if you connect them wrong obviously they wont work.

the feed goes into the rear fitting and the pressure side goes to to the rear brakes HTH

I've put the connections like on the picture and it's the same handbrake. The master cilinder is 0.625 so i think it's good. It goes but only at the end. If you out your foot a little bit on the brake pedal the handbrake is perfect!

air trapped in the handbrake cylinder
it's a bummer to get out
we used to remove the piston circlip and let piston out a bit till the seal is revealed and push the seal down a little bit to let the air out

I had the same, I eventually bled it using the hand brake lever, bleed the nipple, release, handbrake on, bleed, release for ages and on both sides and then with the foot brakes, urgh! A vacuum bleeder as above would have sucked it out a treat though
