Default Supra diffs!!!

Anybody had experiance with these yet or is it to early days to pass judgment?

Just thinking about one of these instead of a gripper or bara jobbie cause they're meant to be 'bullet proof'...

any input would be great!

I'm in exactly the same boat, I know they can take the power but how well do they lock up in comparison to the likes of a gripper?

I would say it must be the best conversion money can buy for a cossie!!

The diff seems to be awesome in a supra and pretty unbreakable so should be a great conversion that im going to do too

So about 15KG more than a standard rwd cossie diff then? Got to be worth the extra weight for the fit and forget factor

we were discussing the insulated type mount today for road users
will be based on the 9 inch insulated diff mounts we did many years ago when we were fitting the big Ford 909 diffs to road cars

a rubber or polly mount could be made.. fraser is running a supra diff in his car, escozgaz has just had one installed in his car although i don't think he's run it yet. one will be going in the shonky saff very soon.

I got this from the Supra Owners Club awhile ago:

Normally Aspirated - 4.30:1
2.5 Twin Turbos - 4.10:1
3L Turbos (87-88) - 3.90:1
3L Turbos (88-92) - 3.73:1

I keep searching for 3.9 one but they seem to be like rocking horse shit.

I can't fault the diff. I Dont even find it that harsh with the solid rear mount to be honest for normal road use. I'm using poly beam mounts and a 6 degree rear beam.

the conversion bolts straight in to a 2wd beam and uses the standard 2wd drive shafts and std prop
How clever are we
This conversion is a combined effort between Myself and captain grumpy John (Jack Dee)

Interesting development certainly and if there's a roadgoing mount ( like for the 9" Ford one ) it would be great.

So, in summary, the 3.73 is closest to the rwd Ford one. How much are the gear ratios affected - anyone know ( using standard rev limit ) and how much higher is top gear revs at, say, 70mph?

The 3.64 standard ford ratio is too high we used to alter these to 3.9
much more drivable unless of coarse your aim is to beat rods top speed lol

The standard speedo is miles out any way so can't be any worse really lol
speedy cables can calibrate your std speedo any way
and it's hardly a big worry fitting a 3.7 diff as most people have messed the speedo up any way with 17's 18's and 19 inch wheels
The cosworth is still running a 1950's cable speedo ffs

I hear what you're saying. I'm still on standard 205/50x15s and standard diff ratio but my speedo isn't too far out according to different GPS apps/devices.

How much is it to source and change a 3.9 7.5" ratio ( 2wd car ) for a standard Cosworth diff as an aside?

it is all shite and briney all adaptors are electroplated in gold
all other fittings are powder coated black
the diffs are either black or silver
ratios currently available are 3.7 at 1k
we can do from 3.6 to 4.3 but these are extra as we have to use a new crown wheel and pinion which is on top of the 1k
personally I think the 3.7 at 1k is a bargain and fine for most peoples needs

The 6 degree double adjustable rose jointed beams are 1K exchange another serious bargain

Yea 3.7 will work for almost any app really and seeing as it all comes lovely and clean etc is a bargain and a no brainer compared to any thing else on the market!!!

We will be sourcing one from you very soon..

cheers danny
