Default Clutch to handle 331 LB Torque ?

Need help big time on this, its a road car with a competition engine 300 BHP and 331 LB TQ FT.

are there options i could go for without going mad?

AP are saying the 7 and a quarter Racing clutch twin plate but is very harsh for road use, im not too worried about it being harsh so long as it wont slip.

is there any other option for maybe a paddle clutch, i googled it before i joined this forum and found some older posts about clutches, and some of you guys mentioned that the torque values are able to cope with more than what they specify ? If this is true whats the best thing to go for maximum torque is at:
3,500 revs 331.0 TQ
4,000 revs 303.3 TQ
4,500 revs 303.4 TQ
5,000 revs 291.0 TQ
5,500 revs 276.0 TQ
6,000 revs 248.6 TQ
6,500 revs 193.1 TQ

Whats my best option ?

woooow nice can i have a go ? lol.

ok i think there is a 20mm difference in the size isnt there, but basically your saying 6 paddle is the way to go, what about clutch housing ?

i already have the MK 5 adjustable pedal conversion and modified quadrant im trying to avoid Hydrolic reservoirs...........

you wouldnt happen to have a reference to the clutch part would you from AP?

thanks for your help mate

An AP 4 paddle should handle that power id have thought?
Or the Cp2000-35 organic...? Im guessing this would be near its limit, iirc 300lbsft is the quoted limit.

Both require the mk5 pedal and quadrant.

http://www.apracing.com/product_deta...ven_plate.aspx

Link to CP2000-35 Organic Clutch from AP, power rating 310 nm and 230 LB TQ

how much ley way have they given to go under the actual real torque load capabilities is the question,

this is 100 LB torque under my torque measurement, CP - 35 is 4 paddle ? what about the 6 Paddle ?

Do you think the 6 Paddle clutch will hold 331 LB TQ ?

its being built by CTS

will be a CTS Stage 2+ took me while to look at boxes, ive given them by power ratios etc and they will get back to me at some point, they said they will look into getting the best ratios for it, they also wanted to know my tyre width and where MAX power is applied ( REVS TQ )

the gearbox will be adequate enough i would Imagen.

the problem is getting the clutch that can handle the power at the moment.

converted the LB/FT to NM and the NM measurement is 448.27NM @ 331 LB/FT TQ

http://www.apracing.com/product_deta...ht_finger.aspx

This clutch cover should provide " MORE THAN ENOUGH " Clamp Prrssure to hold down either a 4 paddle or 6 paddle Clutch plate.

Extremely heavy duty

- CP3560-1 = 5500 NM (1240LB)
- CP3560-2 = 7500 NM (1690LB)

Better to have too much than not enough lol

- CP5354-15 Would be the clutch plate im after at Ø20.0mm x 17T. 4 paddle

http://www.apracing.com/product_deta...54_family.aspx

now going to call Helix clutches to see if they do a 6 paddle for this clutch cover at the given measurements !!

Luke your a joke

now thats out the way

after going through a complete day of searching for a clutch without going twin plate i found salvage at a Motorsport place near Silverstone who have kindly helped me with a clutch and pressure cover, a 6 paddle to be exact and a high pressure cover, so clutch problems now sorted.

thanks to Helix Motorsports direction i finaly found it. thanks anyway everyone accept for luke as hes clearly just a plum.

think ill be sticking with the Billet shot peened planet gears, strengthened bell housing alloy converted rated up to 400 BHP CTS stage 2+ gearbox made to the exact ratio specifications to my power chart, so to cut it short luke......take your MTX wank and then proceed in sticking the MTX up your arsel...hahahahaha

ok admin you can ban me again now if you like, by the way if i feel like coming back and asking questions without stupid faggots like luke bringing up pointless shit to get a kick which in any fact has no barring on me gaining access on here when ever i want, i dont think hes small mind understands this but oh well.

all the genuine people on this thread thanks alot, but i sorted it in the end.

if it is a bc gearbox your getting from cts then i urge you to reconsider..no bc box will like 300 of either power or torque through it for very long..from cts id say your going to be spending the best part of £1500 for it and it WONT last long...better off spending the money on a standard focus rs box..£400-£600,some mounts and shafts,clutch... will take 300 of both all day long

Might be an idea to give Stuart Collins a pm to see what clutch he's got. He's an animal and his clutch/gearbox seems to be doing the job

someone as got anger issues

cts gearbox which is good for 400bhp

ps. i was trying to save you money by saying a MTX gearbox, because that cts gearbox will not last very long if your engine is making the power you say
