Advise...inlet cam?
My 3 door is currently on greens with a tt t34.55, 500 cooler, fresh rebuild but standard engine and head e.t.c. Still on l1 i believe with msd chip.
Thinking of changing spec slightly in winter. Just wondering which injectors are the next ones from greens which are readily available and how much cost wise?
Also would i benifit from an inlet cam at this stage? Bearing in mind ive standard pistons?
Lastly with a new spec of t34.55, injectors and possible cam what would i expect to see power wise? I understand they will be guestimates and i will select a tuner and discuss just wanting some ideas upfront. Thanks.

An ab 07 inlet cam with a spacer in the inlet if its a 2wd one or even better a 4x4 inlet plenum with a pf09 tps and a level 8 ecu upgrade and some 55lb siemens injectors with a decent live map would see a geniune 380 hp and 400 ft lb
Lovely all round fast road conversion !

With a change if cam would it need live mapping or will a new chip do the trick?

Ross have you drove it enough yet mate.. As it might be wise to get used to it first...as the spec above is similar to mine and is a Wilde card in the wrong hands...in wish you all the best mate... Or and mine is in standard cams mate

It was running a mild head port, standard cams and a 4x4 inlet along with light blue injectors (400s) T34.55 and a 500 spec intercooler.
The car made 371.7bhp and 350lb/ft peaking @ 1.7bar boost.
I would have the same sort of spec again (55lb injectors and the AB07 inlet cam).
The cam would just help it rev a bit better, no need for valve cutouts.
It was a very nice drive, and done the 1/4 in 12.91 sec @ 114.77mph

Good 2nd hand l8...Ł200
set of 55lbers Ł250
Inlet cam to same spec as ab 07 Ł160
4x4 inlet plenum complete Ł130
couple of hours live map on a good base map Ł200 ish depending on who you use??
So yeah around a Ł1000 should be achieved no problem..
If you do what matt says tho and get a live map on some 55lbers for now it will be awesome and then later all your need are the bits above and the map re tweaked

Ive had my fiesta custom mapped over 2 days at MSD for 300 i think so though live mapping a cosworth would be more than that.

Sounds good. Thanks mate. What advantages would i see on an l8 over and l1. I know it will be technically different but would i as an end user see a difference?
Perfect help mate. Cheers.

When you say buy a good base map off msd do you mean buy a chip off them which has been specced for my mods?

The only reason you would need to change your injectors is if they could not flow enough, I should think just by changing the cam they would still be able to flow for it.
Tbh, imo, it's pointless changing cams on a standard Cosworth, i.e. T3 turbo, as the cams/head etc can consume more than the airflow you have.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Why would you waste your time buying a base map from a different tuner? If you're taking it to Tony you may aswell let him supply and tweek one of his own well established maps.

Two,who said he was deffo going to tonys??
At the end of the day anyone who can use a spanner can do the said conversion above and any one who can map out there with webber software can download a t34 55lb base map and go from there..
