Default transit missing a beat

Coming down motorway earlier not much diesel in and van seemed to be running out.
Stopped phoned wifey up told her to bring me a gallon of diesel, put it in drove off mway and it now seems to have a flat spot as i accelarate, any ideas people.
Its a 2001 120/350t

I would say its got some shit in the filter from the bottom of the tank. Change the fuel filter and try thst.

I would suggest a ford filter only though as I've had bother with other types and know sounds obvious but fill it with fresh diesel before fitting it as I've seen people tip the old filter into the new one.
