Default Powder coating

Hi chaps,

I've got a techy question on powder coating, as far as I'm aware powder coating is no good for high temp surfaces, i.e. an exhaust system.

However, father unit got a new can through for his bike and it explains in the destructions that you need an additional part for a powdercoated exhaust can?

I would think powder coating would simply melt on any high temp surfaces?

any gen?

Is the extra part a cover that you can paint, and then put over the can, therefore won't get so hot?

Ceramic coating is the only thing that will last on a exhaust manifold, and its not cheap.

But does have other benefits other to looking pretty, hence why all the rally teams and high performace cars have it.

Although on a bike i cant imagine the end cam gets mega mega hot, bit like a car back box.
