Haha GLen she has been very well looked after by me. In fact she's hardly used as I've worked away a lot. I've maybe only done 4k miles

Would need to be a well mapped car (live mapped really) running healthy boost to do 300bhp but it is achievable...the cat is the major restriction with the standard turbo anyway so a decat, decent map and you can be there
As for the cheap cars tiff wants.....the reason he hasn't found the hallowed minter for 6.5k is because the people with the good ones know they can get more than that for them, the eternal bargain you're hanging out for might take you a while to find tbh and i expect you'll be wanting to make a profit when you sell up lol

Out of they 2,what about an st focus, easily hit 300 bhp,a lot better ride like the Beemer and maybe more punchy and newer than a mk1 RS

Yes i know it was going to take a while...i never said it wasnt, thats why i have been looking for months. Offering people who are strtuggling to sell there cars what i feel i am willing to pay. They are not selling as people are beginning to realise what they are out there for.

As for selling it on afterwards.....yes, possibly would put a higher price on it.....like people always do......

Price a car right and it will sell straight away.........proven by the last few cars i have sold...

If you want something fun get the RS, the Bimma is the better car but it wont feel special (but I am sure you're aware of that already). The bimma is not slow. I have outrun a focus RS in mine at motorway speeds. Bit then I am sure the Focus would be quicker off the mark and in the mid range.

Its horses for courses, two different cars really. I'd have the M3 WITH something like the RS or a cossie but if it had to be one then for me personally its the M3, I like my toys and comfort.

It depends on the power of the FRS, as I say the BMW has alot more power than a FRS, even with a tuned "300" FRS your not going to match anywhere near the power of an M3, given the M3 is a heavier car.

And lets be honest your getting a masterpiece 6 cylinder engine, compared to a turbocharged Zetec engine, i'm not slating the FRS, but as said I find it hard to see how you can compare the two really.

The stats for the M3, the (limited) top speed and 0-60 outdo the Focus as standard.

Martin

Covers it nicely. Brother went from a Fiesta RST to his E46 M3 and it's by miles a better car but he's already finding it boring.

Quite a funny take on it all tbh mate, does make me laugh when you're telling people how little their cars are worth but will want proper money when you come to sell....kind of wanting your cake and eating it.....
I guess it's the classic car dealer mentality which is fair enough but making out people are overvaluing their cars because you want to pay peanuts is nonsense really, you simply haven't found anyone desperate enough yet!

how anyone can compare the bmw m3 to a poky focus is beyond me lol

the m3 is by far a much much better car in every single way shape and form

and the boot floor is down to pure abuse anyway
remember there is good power with big wide grippy tyres so over time something has to give
easy fixed though

i love M3s as much as the next man, but to say it's better in every way shape and form is blinkered.

no everyone wants what the M3 delivers, and some people DO want what the focus delivers

personally i'd rather have and M3, but i'm not everyone!

I LOVE my M3 in every shape and form.
Had a FRS and kept it for 7 weeks before putting it up for sale

Had the "M" for 3 1/2 yrs now and anyone who knows me on this board will tell you that says something about the car.

A 2.0 glorified Zetec, is more tuneable than a 3.2 straight six?

Understandy.

Pretty tough call to be fair, the FRS has a sense of presence IMO, they're quite clearly not your average Focus, even to Average Joe.
My mate has an E46, it's low on CSL wheels, all the toys, gets lots of looks, but that's because he's 21

What's to pmsl at?
Was under the impression you'd been looking for more than a couple of days and ph is one of the main culprits when looking for a car hence why i thought you may have seen it earlier, especially in the price bracket you're looking at.....doesn't say sold on the ad so you might be lucky eh!
