Caught speeding urgent help required

The police car that stopped me for it makes me think I was clocked saddly. Had a clean license for years, driving since 19 when I got an SP30 and nothing else, now 35.
Appreciate it's a ban but trying to gauge how long.

I had a mate stopped doing 120 they took his car off him straight away there and the and took him to the station. He was given 6 months ban and a Ł650 fine. Then had to pay to get his car out. Did they charge you with speeding and tell you your speed limit?

the car must of been unroad worthy for them to do that?

He said he was "going to report me for consideration of prosecution for exceeding the 70mph limit"
He didn't give me the speed or tell me how it was recorded. Can I request this?

One of my friends was caught doing 105 in a 50 a couple of months back, the police car was a diesel focus which didn't have a calibrated speedo, the driver and passenger gave conflicting statements giving different speeds (one said 80-90 the other 100+) he was given a hefty fine but no ban. My mate said it was showing 112 on his speedo but no ban so you might be okay... He also needs his licence for work which may have helped.
How did you come to be doing 130mph then?

Sounds like he saw you were clearly speeding but didnt actually record your speed.
Surely in a court of law the feds need evidence of a actual speed?
If i were you, bob over to the many speeding forums. they'll know the deal with this.

I got caught doing 120 in a 70. Was sent to court, banned for 12 months with a DD40 and Ł600 fine reduced to Ł400 for pleading guilty at first opportunity. Once it gets to this sort of speed it's dangerous driving. Also had to resit my test and it was an extended test, 1.5 hours!

Both were actually surprisingly fine with me.
I'm not sure he didn't manage to get a reading as I'm sure it wasn't as quick as that. And 130 seems such a round number.

Definatley wasn't unroadworthy it was an 06 BMW 320 quite a tidy car what happened was an astra which turned out to be CID was rite up his arse so he flawed it thinking it was some daft youngens they followed him for ages trying to keep up with him but radio'd ahead and a chaser stopped him. Tried all the stories of he feared for his life etc as the car was so close behind him flashing it's headlights but it didn't work. Lol

My dad got off with a hefty fine by not saying he needed his license for work but saying if he lost it his wife and kids would be homeless as he would loose his job and there for his house he was given 11 points and a big fine he was clocked on his bike doing 136 mph

most speedos need recalibration ever couple of months. but id just be honest with them and hope for the best, most police are sound and you might just get off with a fine for speeding rather then the ban and hefty fine. over here they got to say what they are going to do for it to be legit me thinks from what ive heard

If you are the registered keeper of the vehicle and the ISSUE date on the Notice of Intended Prosecution is more than 14 days after the offence, then you can reject it.
This only applies if it is dated more than 14 days after the alleged offence. It does not apply if it is dated within 14 days but received more than 14 days after the offence. If the NIP has been issued too late, then you should return it to the Process Office stating that you reject it because it is time barred.
Bear in mind that if you are not the registered keeper, the NIP may have originally been issued within time and sent to the keeper.
Cut and paste tastic!

Again,as pointed out above was this in a traffic cop style motor?they can't do fuck all in a panda as their speedos aren't calibrated, maybe report you for dangerous driving but then that's only 6 points or so.
Best bet is search that pepipoo website or get a free 1/2hr session with a local solicitor.
Your answers have been very vague so far, more exact details would help.
What does it say on your bit of paper they gave you?

Myself and another zipped round a roundabout and joined a motorway. We gave it beans and then slowed. The other car came off and I stayed on, accelerating again. About 200yds on I slowed again as I passed the on slip. That's when I clocked a car behind me. Blue lights came on. He asked if I knew the other driver. Said he clocked me at 130.
I was cautioned for the offence of excess speed. I was given a pink form (12A) and my details were recorded. Reason for stop was noted as "exceedeed speed j7-8 130mph"

130 ? At least a year ban, maybe 18 months and a thumping great fine. Judges don't look favourably on people doing 50 in excess of the legal limit. Doesn't matter whether their gun was calibrated really, the on-board camera in the Police car gives real time details and their speed (I believe) is calibrated by GPS. If that says 130, that's what they were chasing you at.
Game over.

So much wrong information on this thread
The police won't tell you what's going to happen at the side of the road, as after 97mph it's not up to them. It's up to the court to decide, it's only down to the police to catch you.
Best thing to do is register on the Pepipoo forum you'll get all you need on there. I wouldn't get hopes up of not being banned, better to have it in your head that you probably will, that way it won't come as hard on the day. And the whole "I need my license for work" trick will not wash with the court, probably 99% of people in this situation try that and the court will be well used to it! They will take the stance that if you value your license that much for work, you shouldn't be cutting about doing 130mph!
The first 6 months of my ban flew in, the last 6 were brutal! Then I had to go for 3 months of lessons to remove my 'bad habits'

Mate of mine got a stop ticket the other day for being on the phone
Everything was listed on the bit of paper followed by "no further action"
Get a picnic the bit of paper up and then post it on piipoo or whatever that speeding site is and cross your fingers goes etc that it was only a panda car rather than traffic

I'm in the last month of a 18 month stretch. First 3 are killer. Then just started saving loads, don't really miss it or the expense now, I do have a supportive mrs though.
