dont do it,
had one and after six months sold it,
if you think cosses are dear to run and fix think again,
these things are very very exspensive to run and maintain,
fast but if you try and mod it, there is no uprated parts available, so it will break very quickley,
cam chains brake, head gaskets leak, blocks go porus and leak, turbos are very weak, eats brake pads/discs,
and the worst bit is they weighe around 1700 kiols!!

Love Lotus Carltons... Tho from what I have heard talking to the owners at shows - expensive to run, expensive to maintain, and not too responsive to modding????
Don't think they hold the crown to fastest production saloon car anymore tho - think the Audi RS6 has taken that now (i could be wrong)

Still the fsatest production saloon, the Audi/M5 etc are all restricted to 155mph from the factory so are nearly 30mph behind.
When parts werent avaliable a group of people headed by James Waddington of www.lotus-carlton.co.uk agreed to buy a whole run of parts specially made

My boss had one when they first came out. I didnt know what they were back in them days.
We went on a trip from Norwich to Manchester... Never been scared so much in my life. We were approaching roundabout doing speeds of 140+
I have to say it seemed very capable, stable - and fast as fook
