Default wheel spacer help needed please

Hello
i recently sold my x reg escort van with std wheels fitted, today the same lad came and collected a set of 15" escort gti /zetec alloys with 195/50/15 rubber fitted i had saved for him, hes just phoned me and said they sit too close to the inside of arch and he needed spacers, ive never used spacers and dont know a lot about them ,hence my thread
he thinks they need to be 15mm ,so i looked on the ebay and some sets come with longer studs and there about £100 a set for certain cars ,so
what size spacers have you used on your vans in this situation with these wheels, and did you need to replace the std studs with longer ones ,thanks for any advice or information you can share to help me out
regards Dave thanks

Used to run my van on 195 section tyres without spacers just had to modify the inner rear arches with a block of wood and a hammer where the tyre was rubbing the body and had no problems after that.

The only experience i have had with spacers is on a 206. We used universal spacers from halfords and needed extended wheel bolts (french don't use studs). the only place we could find these was demon tweeks, perhaps try them as they were very helpful. I have heard a lot of people advise against them as they are under a lot of shearing pressure due to be long but no thicker they can snap.

Buy some cheap slip on spacers to check what the bare minimum req is,then buy spacers/studs if needed...

Why is this you're problem btw?
(not trying to be funny but if he thinks he needs 15mm spacers tell him to go buy them!)
