on mk1 focus Rs....the wife gets in the car in the morning but it is solid to turn, after a little while of trying to go back and forwards it then releases itself and is ok the rest of the day, i've topped power steering up, peeps on the rsoc say it could be the pump but it dont make any noises at all.
any ideas people.

Try a complete fluid change.
Sometimes on my Transit when it's damp, the belt will slip on the pulleys and until I've given it a bit of a rev it won't give me power assistance. There is no squealing noise either but I know when it's done it as the battery warning light stays on too.
