i think if it could not back up its looks with its power, say a standard cvh mfi etc, then yeah you could say it was ott but it was around 400bhp zetec turbo and went has good has it looked

Looks miles better now
No idea why it was so revered, ok it had skill in the chopped up bumpers etc but it never did any times of note and looked a bit chavvy really

each to there own, not everyone likes to see the same looking car over and over, this car was one of the first of its kind, forget what you have seen before.
if you like the look of the standard car only, then maybe this is not the car for you

It was a Ford Escort with some big bumpers it was hardly the work of a genius!
As for the first of its kind, did you see any car mags at all in the 90's?
As you say, each to their own, but the car is far from standard now also if you look, just more subtle

Does make me laugh just how much this car gets talked about STILL 7-8 after I broke it up pmsl....
Remember the stying is over 10 years old now so in nowadays terms is out of date in some respects.
As said before so what if it never put any real times down, I was at Brunters when there was a Fiesta vrs Escort RS Turbo day where it did put times down and came out on top..
James built the car for 1 thing HIS enjoyment, it was never built to break any records just to have a laugh in. Same as my car I built it for me to enjoy not to go out there and attempt every record know to man.
I look forward to ther next installment of SOY slaging off in a week, a month or a years time when it crops up again.... Perhaps we could organise a 10 years breaking anniversary????

My fave rst of all time! I remember when i first see it with the exhaust coming out through the rear panel, but then when it came back again with the rs front valance and 18in rsgt's i think that was the best it ever looked! Would love to buy it and put it back to how it was. I couldn't give a f*ck what all the haters say, that car IS a legend whether they like it or not

Holy crap its only in Llandudno, about 10 miles from my folks house. Gonna go have a look at it, still looks pretty good. Despite not doing the numbers, it doesn't matter, it was a cool car hands down! Piece of the Ford scene history that
