Default Cosworth block codes

Hi every one I'm new on here and after a bit of advice so any help would be much appreciated

I have purchased a new Cosworth 200 block and trying to work out the year it was made and if it is going to be ok for big power so if anyone could get back to me on this would be very grateful.

The only numbers on the block are as follows,

200 (Cosworth 200 block)
V90HM6015AB
C8S1A
7C97
Bm15
6
2222 I believe this is bore grade

If anyone could let me know what the above numbers represent would be grateful.

Cheers Darren

If it doesn't have 99 stamped anywhere, you should be ok to use it for big power

Am I right in saying the 99 code is what people call a 'turkish' block?
I was told that all blocks were cast in turky and then machined else where, there was a batch of around 10,000 that were bored off centre but were melted down and re-cast with around 50 slipping through the net.
If thats correct what is the chance of one of them still being about?
meaning anything marked '99' should still be as good as the next???

I believe Mark's theory is to start with a low power output and slowly increase the power over a period of 12-24 months. Then they seem to be ok, as Ade's

Thanks for the info people gives me some thing to work with

Do any of you guys know what any of the numbers represent which I have posted still want to know for my own reference as I was told that the block does not have an engine number as it came direct from Cosworth and has never been in a car and engines only got engine numbers when they were built for a specific car?
