Default Weekend Fun Car Ideas????

I absolutely love my M3 but I am just about to start a new job in the centre of London so will be getting the tube to work and will only be driving at weekends..

Now I have been toying with the idea of buying something that could give me even more fun than the M3 does. I have about £10k tied up in the M3 and will be able to get about another £3k.

I have been looking at things like TVRS etc.... I dont want a Saff, Evo or anything like that I want something a bit more 'special'

Doesnt matter if its turbo or NA.. but needs to unsublte and lairy

I am hopefully going to look at a TVR Tuscan at the weekend but any other ideas greatly welcomed

tvr's are going to go up in price, and also i doubt you'll get a more lairy exhaust note for your money.
Your on a ford forum so im assuming reliability problems will be expected as standard.

Otherwise for a cheap fun fast car you wont go far wrong with a westfield, nothing else much would keep up with it on the road.

Forgot to mention it will be parked outside so not sure a caterham would be a good idea....but it is secure as its a private road.
Someone at work just mentioned something within the Lotus range???

Looking forward to testing a Tuscan !

I love TVRs. It could end up costing you a fortune mind, but certainly a pretty unsubtle way to travel.

This might be a touch over budget, and break down even more, but I love them: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-Lotus...item5648231e70

a lotus would be another to test your patience, but also a nice car.

personally if u go tvr i wouldnt get the rainbow effect paint as it looks dated and in the words of some 'gash'.

If you get a TVR with a TVR engine then keep £4k aside for engine failures, I'd go for a Cerbera out of them all

Easily done for your budget, you should be able to get the face lift 3.6, legend has it they are the better engine.

My favourite, mate had one for a few months. Was rather expensive to maintain, but looked and went rather well.

clio V6 sounds like it fits the bill perfectly!
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3158169.htm
Or a Monaro:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3793881.htm

then theres the usual stuff to look into:
Golf R32
Supra
Renault 5 GT
Skyline
RX-7

Or, sack off a weekend car a buy a run about then get a rage buggy as a proper toy!!!!!

Erh?!

As I said to you Dan, I'd be wary of TVRs from what I've heard. Awesome car to won for a summer though I'd imagine.

911 is a good shout?

Think you're have to get rid of the M3 if Alex and Cowie both buy one as well!

Boxster otherwise? Didn't you drive one/look at them before?

What about a Z3 M convertible? Cool and fast little cars.

If you do buy a TVR then come round mine a bit earlier Friday for a go

Something yank if you want loud quick and lairy, maybe not a track monster but straight-line fun and not too bad handling.
New gen mustang would fit the bill, endless tuning/styling options and pretty reliable too.
Porsche looked nice though.
Boss in my old works had a tvr, awesome motor but went pop, cost about £10k to put right and went pop again, then disappeared in the night.
Funny that.

As you have extra money to play with.. How about a supercharger conversion for the M3?

You said yourself you love it. Why not make it very special.
