Default Zetec Turbo. What do you use?

I have bought a forged silver top zetec turbo lump which is eventually going into my cougar. I have dropped it off with my mechanic who is prepping the engine ready for fitting and we are looking at different inlet manfold setups at the minute.

I have a rover turbo inlet manifold and Fuel rail with blue band injectors but I am unsure what throttle body to use and was after some advice on if I should use this or if anybody else had a different setup they could recommend?

If you say to stick with the rover turbo inlet what throttle body is best to use as I dont have one at the minute.

Its a build aiming for 300 bhp. Running a T3 with a -34 actuator.

Thanks,

Rob

Bugger off the rover turbo inlet, fit a HO inlet from a Mondeo or escort, use the whole thing and use side feed injectors, or graft on a different fuel rail and use top feeds.
Not had a read out of mine but pulls very well at 21psi.
Also the R&D needs to be on a 0.48 housing and have the course Cosworth 4wd compressor side to hit 300 bhp imo

Wouldn't bother with above set up either, as have to fuck about with Vxr injectors and rails and getting the Rs turbo sensors to fit.

I'd run a focus Rs inlet and injectors. ( late black top Mondeo inlet is the same but with diff injectors and throttle body. )

T3 is bit out of breath at 300 bhp tbh.

Thanks guys.

I take it the focus RS inlet is end fed injectors? so the rover ones should fit. Sorry for the thick questions. This is a learning curve!

Any focus 2.0 inlet is the same. The RS and standard 2.0 mani's are the same item apart from throttle body and injectors etc

Is that better flowing than a HO manifold?
What power will a .48/.55 T3 max out at?

yea better flowing than a H.O. i have not seen a h.o. over 320bhp, should be easy to find a set of rs injectors.

i've heard that the HO inlet has been flow tested by someone in the with a great manifold on his shelf too. and it showed that it did very well, better than a rover one did by a mile.
the only issue really with the HO is the long runners and the bends, port wise they are fine.
i need to get mine on a set of rollers as i believe i'm well over 320bhp, especially at a BAR and a half on the t04b bb turbo i was running.
i can't say how well it does up the revs with bigger boost, but no reason to doubt the torque it can produce even if there is a little drop off at the very top end of power.

just when ian tested the H.O. he said to get one much over 320 ish you would be pushing it, then i tried this and struggled past 315, but saying that my turbo was running out of puff, so i dont doubt you, need to get the thing strapped down, sorted your clutch?

just breaking clutch into resurfaced cover, so not pushing it at the moment.
i'm not totally convinced it'll hold 2BAR, which is the end goal should it prove efficient enough just for the rollers/strip.
if the inlet is too restrictive i reckon on giving gary's inlets a go, finding a bargain area six one is unlikely.
