i don't actually know, i shall find out, maybe an admin fee of a nominal amount but not entirely sure.

i think it's 2 years so you don't build up millions of miles etc.

If I recall, the person who works for Ford can have two privilege sales a year, 6 months apart.
They can be for him or close family members.
There are rules regarding length of time before you can sell it without paying a penalty, 2 years sounds right but don't hold me to that.
I do remember the discounts were massive.

Im a bit lost here TBH.

If its YOUR car, what the hell difference to them does it make if you rack up millions of miles or not

Again, if it was PCP with a final value payment I could understand that as they have to sell the car on again at the end if you dont wish to make the final payment, but if there is no such payment and hence they dont get the car back I dont see why its their business how many miles it does?

I dont mean this horribly, but it sounds like youve handed over 5.6K without really knowing what it is you've bought (other than a white fiesta, perhaps for 2 years)

Your coming across as an idiot that doesn't know what they have bought.. what has your bank manager or mortgages got to do with a vehicle purchase

In this instance I do know better than you. You have not bought that car outright for Ł5600 end of

A mate of mine years ago worked for Jaguar and because of the dealings with Ford he'd buy a brand new Ford every 9 months (had to keep it for 9 months, that was the deal on buying a car with the discounts). He'd then PX it back at Ford for another model and genarally due to the 50-60% discount on the original purchase he'd actually get more back as a PX than he'd originally paid so he'd buy a better model car.

It does look like you will have no payments for 2 years and at the end of the 2 years as long as you havent gone over something like 15000 miles then the balloon payment that you WILL have to pay wont go up, however if you have gone over a set mileage it will put the final amount up

Mercedes used to do similar with renting cars out to staff for peanuts, again it had to be returned after 9 months and had to be low mileage.

It allows manufacturers to shift unwanted new cars as nearly new secondhand cars.
Where as if they discount the new cars instead of selling them secondhand it can devalue the product.

Clare from MK had a smart roadster on a similar scheme, cost her naff all, like 100 and something a month insured and serviced etc.

Because you are paying for it, somehow it ends up not classed as BIK or company car taxable etc.

Quite a clever trick really!

My friend works for Mercedes and gets that deal too, just pays x amount each month to cover the lot and after 9 months can choose a new car to have, quite good really.

What do you mean anything else is dealt with if/when you sell it? What is the anything else?

Is it the lump sum that you have to pay after 2 years by any chance?

There is no way you can buy a brand new Fiesta for Ł5.6k.

I think you should have a read of the paperwork again in great detail

Just re read the OP's first couple of posts.
If ya brother is a Sales Manager at a Ford dealer, you wouldn't be entitled to Privelige discount.
That's the boat I was in myself.
I will stand corrected if the scheme has changed since I left Ford in 2001....
Only direct employees and their immediate family are eligible.

WTF

Does rather sound like someone hasn't understood what's going on, otherwise why the mention of not going over mileage etc.

I was speaking to someone the other day who told me how their daughter had been to ford after 2 years was up on her fiesta.. She'd come home telling him that she can swap her car for a brand new one for Ł200! She genuinely believed she was going to get a brand new car for Ł200 and her car. She didn't seem to understand that she'd need to pay for it in 2 years again!

so basically 5.6k isnt such a bargain after all??? seems a bit of a shitty deal to be honest
especially if after 2 years its 'bye bye fiesta, bye bye Ł5.6k'

your are paying 233-00 a month to hire a fiesta which will cost you 5600-00 over two years
when two years are up you need to pay about 7k or give them you hire car back simple
ive had a couple of new focus st,s on the privilege scheme the first one was 5k off and was 16200-00 and the next one was 14625-00 after taking 2500-00 discount off
if your brother is knocking cars out to family for 5600-00 he will be in the shit very soon

I've got a car you can have for 2 years for 5.6k. It's not new but there won't be any fees when you bring it back. To be fair i don't even care if you bring the fucking thing back

This does all sound a bit odd.

if its the deal i'm thinking of then it IS 100% her car for the Ł5600,
she's just not aloud to sell it on for a set period(2 years i think but not sure)
my mate used to work for ford and got this very deal for his dad and sister(not at same time)
if she does sell it before the 2 years then she is liable to pay back the rest of the retail price(its to stop employees buying them and selling them straight on for a massivre profit)
this was around 2 years ago so i assume its the same kinda deal
if it is then it realy is as good as it sounds

ford were doing a deal on the zetec s fiesta about 10 months ago
5k deposit and 119-00 a month for 2 years
you then gave them the car back or paid the final payment, they gave you a gfv and depending how it worked out it was a bit towards your deposit for your next new car

Sounds epic if that is the case

Hope so for Loubie's sake as that would be an awesome deal.

I know nothing about the ford scheme, so wasnt in anyway trying to tell her she was wrong, was just asking for more info as it was all so vague.

Either way, I really hope you enjoy the new car but not enough to want to get rid of the scort!

Thats a bog standard PCP deal that all the manufacturers do, very common, ive written some of the software a couple of manufacturers use for this and its the most common way cars are sold these days, normal hire purchase is actually now quite rare for a new car.

They like PCP deals as at the end you tend to renew, where as with HP people are more likely to just hold onto the car for ages after.
Plus the rates look more attractive initially.

Please explain the costs L0ubie?

If you can really buy a brand new fiesta ST for 6k then I might aswell sell my 5k a3 and get a brand new car for 1/5th of the price more.

Fuck pcp/finance/HP though.
