hi all my mate found this spoiler when doing a house clearence

been told its an early XR4X4 spoiler???

also wondering if it would look any good or would it fit on my sapphire in place of the original????

what you think it will look like fitted to a sapphire???
and
is it a xr4x4 spoiler???? (has genuine ford stamps and part number etc??)

 

Genuine Ford, but its an Escort RS Turbo S2 unit, wont fit a Saph!

90 spec is more desirable, yours is pre 90 thou.

Worth £10-20 roughly.

was just gunna try be different and see what looked like on sapphire but dunno weather i bother now haha

A mate of mine had an evo type spoiler on his Saff, looked okay but not really my thing - a bit marmite having non Saff spoilers on a Saff.

 

Lot of people now de-spoiler Escos etc, maybe try that with a small lip spoiler from M3? Be good to see something different.

when me and a mate do all the arches etc we shall have a see what it looks like or maybe as you said go down the road of a small lip spoiler.

this is an XR4x4 RS option spoiler:





i dont think thats a 90spec escort RS turbo spoiler in your pic, the edges are too rounded so the XR 4x4 noe sounds more likely.

the XR one will have an RS stamp on the underside, it was an official bodykit part (as oposed to an RSt spoiler which is a standard fitment part)

 

actually wait i checkd the pics properly, the XR4 one is clearly not the same as the picture

regardless neither will go on a saph, XR4x4s were HATCHBACKS and rs turbos were... well... escorts
