Sunday i rode this!!!!
I got down to Margate at 10.30am skiless as my GP had a flat battery Anyway, my mate came over and said do me a favour and put the last hour on my ski so it can go for its first service
It was the ALL new 2012 SEADOO RXP-X 260RS (2 seater) only costing £16250 now i have ridden alot of top notch ski's but this truly is next generation, like starting it up and its automatically in neutral so you can literally leave it ticking over before getting on it!! Touch the throttle and forward she goes.......but the highlight is its fucking brake!!! Yes you can literally ride it like a motorbike on WATER Its a whole new level also has reverse. To ride its fucking epic, 0-50 in under 2.8secs on water Does about 72mph but thats only because of the law that no PWC can go above this. To be fair its fast enough on water, if you came off it would hurtIt rides like a bike, the top is shaped so your legs squeeze what looks like a bike fuel tank....very well designed BUT i felt it was a bit unstable compared to the previous RXP-X but was a lot drier ride. I was travelling quite fast when just a small cross wave nearly had me off! Fuel consumption is terrible but it does have an eco mode which is cool for when the petrol light comes on! I wouldnt buy one as there is far too much to go wrong, i have gone back to 2 strokes...simple engineering.
Also went on my mates race RXP 2005 jobby, now thats EVEN quicker!
This is the ski my arse was on:

Looks mean, great toys are the old jet skis, had a couple bck in the 90's, an early two seater kawasaki x2 followed by a Kawasaki 750 sx stand up jobbie, good fun i'm going to get another one when I retire from playing football

Would imagine it does it by turning the jet backwards or something but it doesnt say.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
The brakes work by means of a interupting water flow a mili-secondwhen entering the pump tunnel and dropping a re-inforced bucket, but the computer controls the flow so as to avoid flipping you.A high tech version of the system seadoo has used manualy for years as a neutral and reverse although you can dive the whole ski under water by blipping the lever at speed but fills hull with water.
Im surprised you didnt mention the suspension phil the real clever bit or 3 stage stepped hull.
