My mates ep3 type R has starting to become hard to get into an out of 2nd gear when driving at low speeds, but when being driven hard it goes out of 2nd no bother, he has it in his mind it needs a new box but iv told him we should be able to fix it an fit new bearings etc, can a rebuild kit be bought an fitted or is it a dealer job? thanks for help

FD and diff have done 2k road miles.
Box has done 19k miles.
