Default jdm sport turbos?

been offered a brand new jdm turbo
apparently its a copy of a garratt gt3582!?!?
it sounds a bit of a monster and probably not suitable for a yb, but has anyone had any dealings with these turbos?
4" ported inlet

get what you pay for

never seen them so not judging quality

why buy copy when you buy right, once only!

i paid £950 off ebay for a Turbonetics T61 i had on one of my saffs, lasted 3 weeks at 34psi, sent it for rebuild and it was sent back with pics of other replica turbos and pics of genuine Turbonetics one, nothing like it internaly and i was £2200 down by the time i bought a pukka one and the paper weight

i would be very wary and hopefully some more reviews from folk that have used them

what about trying some Evo forums of supra forums?

thats unfortunate mate, people will do anything to make a bit of extra cash... especialy on the bay

the fact is that i dont have the cash to buy a quality new one, so im searching the classifieds for a decent used one when a mate offered me this off his car

but why is he selling it?

if its on the car and working fine maby worth a punt if its really cheap?

i would buy it on the provision of renting it, untill it goes bang!
seen some cheap new £280 scrap last 3+ years and 20psi on BMW engines

you just never know

p.s my T61 came from a porsche specialist, very well known and in genuine box..........
