i used to love venoms!

knocking around swindon in the 90's there was a black R5GTT with venoms on it, i loved it at the time

 

Haven't seen a set for years. Used to see them on everything lol.

On there own you might get away with them, we don't need all the 90's tatty bodykits back though.

 

Shit looking wheels but still cool IMO!

I loved them when they 1st came out so had a set of 16's on my black S2 sold them after a few months as everyone had them. Defo retro cool, although there a bit like marmite now

X5 wheels (venom style) with lower rubber on E46 3 series models are common now

 

That style of wheel definitely seems popular, a five spoke that splits at its end. So many cars have them!

They were on everything and then suddenly nothing! Best left where they are I think. There are a few 90s wheels that look cool, but I don't think Venoms could be pulled off anymore!

 

Hated them at the time, think they could be cool now on the right car.

 

Remind me of Max Power magazine. And that is no compliment.

 

Max power wasnt always shit though , the early days had some nice cars that wouldnt look that out of place these days !

Venoms though .............. CRAP

 

Some features were really good. Jamie Shaw had some proper nice features, R5 Turbo, the gold TVR was a brilliant motor!

I spotted a white skoda felicia pick up with grey venoms the other day, gotta say it looked smart.

IMO they only suit a R5 GT Turbo, Clio 1.8 16v (but need to be 16/17") and an Mk4 Escort. I don't think they even suit a fiesta mk3!

hated them at first but they grew on me. cool in a retro sense but wouldnt have a set my self.a bit ''gimmicky' like bad boy bonnets. you either like em or you dont. momo arrows look the buisness on a mk3/mk4 escort thought and i reckon a set of tsw stealths still look nice, 16'/17'

 

For them to be retro cool they'd have had to have been cool back in the day! They were hideous chav tat then!

'Retro shite' might be a more appropriate term.

 

They were cool for about 3 weeks in 1994.

 

I never liked them back then. A mate had them on his cavalier turbo and I thought they looked shite.

Half of the BBS range have a llok of them the way the "Y" shape splits off at the end.

Ive gotta say I loved Venoms when they were popular but I was about 15 lol

They are pretty gash but I saw this vectra on a tsw thread on wheelwhores and I think it pulls them off!

 

Dont think they are quite old enough to be retro yet imo

Interesting, as I think pretty much every other car featured in Max Power/Fast Car had them fitted in 1997, so I'd say at the time, they were pretty cool
