looks tidy mate, can't believe how theyve gone up in price lately, we bought ours exactly 5 year ago for 118k and thought we'd get it valued last month-now 275k .

hard to start on property ladder these days-our first house was a 3 bed detached for 57k in 1996-on that estate there now fetching 180k! god knows what type of house my kids will be able to afford in years to come-wages dont seem to be increasing at same rate as houses.

i just cant tell em all to fuck themselves now

the house is in swindon, grange park, so a pretty good area, hence the price etc...

but its a real nice house, the pics dont do it justice at all

well, as said, we had to start somewhere...

and its plenty good enough for us

cant wait now, im all excited lol

Dan that house is weel tidy for your first house mate!!!!! It has even got a garage too Got a good find there mate.

TrickyDicky aint that the truth on house prices Dunno how they expect people to get on the ladder, and to do it you have to get up to your neck in debt. Also what makes me sick is when you see 4 bed house in Florida going for £130k with a pool etc

Florida was cheaper than that 12 months ago-a friend of mine who was on the cars went out to buy 2 places in florida-1 for the family and one for his pension fund, agreed prices before he went out, got out there and he reckons the place was "on fire" with brits buying up cheap and inflating price sinto the bargain, he landed a place for 100kish but is looking in remote parts of spain now for next one.

if it weren't for the kids school i'd sell up now, take equity out and fook off into the countryside or abroad-we looked up in remote parts of derbyshire-well cheap compared to round here! and proper pubs as well

What position are the current owners in mate?

Quickest - If it is empty - 6 weeks, but you have got to have a decent solicitor, so many of them are fcukin useless.

Longest - big chain etc. um, well a long time

We made an offer in July, moved in end of January

But we did have one buyer pull out, didn't tell us about something he was selling to be able to afford ours

Fudgeass,

Get a good conveyancing solicitor.

do you have to pay the stamp duty? thats gonna smart at £1240

plus then theres the solicitors fees, land searches etc

I was lucky, i paid £53k for my 2 bed semi nearly 2 years ago, no stamp duty

interesting topic

Fair play for getting on the ladder It was only last night that I was thinking to myself, that I want to start getting on the ladder too

Its not easy tho is it Long commitment and not sure if I want to spen the next 20/30 years in the UK

Is a morgage worked out on your annual earnings??

again, best of luck with it all... Wouldnt get half that size house for that price down here
