Default Registering my imported European car in UK

I may get around to registering my Spanish Sierra soon. Whats the process now?
I was easy docs to DVLA office and tax it. So whats the IVA, will my Sierra get through and the cost?

Doesn't need IVA if it's over 10 years old.

i know you`ve changed pretty much every bit of your 2door car this may be in your benefit Rob, as Customs will want their slice of the current market value of your said vehicle,

i.e mate of mine imported an Evo 3 integrale Ł8000GBP with paperwork etc to prove, Once imported customs demanded 20% of their current value valued at Ł32,500 for en example of the same condition as the one imported, in this case 100% perfect with 34,000kms, he ended up paying EXACTLY Ł8000GBP in tax, charges, MOT, and a years tax

they propperly take the piss mate

heard this several times from lads in the VeeDub Bus world, shocking.

There is not duty to pay on European imports. As we are part of the eu. Outside of the eu there are duty charges

Insure it on the VIN number
MOT it on the VIN number
,
Then as below,

From DVLA;

Registering and taxing the vehicle

You can apply for registration at your nearest DVLA local office. The application takes about a week. There is no ‘over the counter’ service.

You will need to take the following documents to the DVLA local office (photocopies or faxed copies are not acceptable):
  • completed application form V55/4 (for new vehicles) or V55/5 (for used vehicles)
  • a Ł55 registration fee (if applicable) and the required fee for the vehicle tax (cheques or postal orders made payable to DVLA Swansea)
  • a current British certificate of insurance
  • foreign registration document and any other papers relating to the vehicle
  • evidence showing the date the vehicle was collected (normally the invoice from the supplier)
  • evidence of type approval
  • a current British MOT test certificate (if applicable)
  • the appropriate HM Revenue and Customs form
  • a 'Declaration that a vehicle is new' form V267 (if applicable), available for download or from a DVLA local office
  • documentation confirming your name and address (a list of acceptable identity documentation can be found on the link below)
