Seems a good way to run it in

It does sound nice though!

380bhp for a 3.0 diesel is not too shy either.

Gavin.

335d would suggest 3.5 but it's not

I heard the 550 was a 3.0 with 3x turbos, 2 normal and 1 electric.

xDrive does mean four wheel drive. They are adding four wheel drive to the new 3 series soon too!

That sounds... dare I say it? Like a Petrol at full chat?

BMW have been doing this for years in europe and america, just not the uk

I think the last uk spec 4wd system on a bmw (excluding the x3,5 & 6) was the old e34 525ix (mid 80's to early 90's)

20mpg flat out, what's the point?!?

Harris has driven one yesterday over on Pistonheads. Fuck buying one of those out of warranty. Packaging of turbos looks sexy as hell but I wouldn't want to pay for any problems.

Last thing I read said that it was just going to be in the X5 and X6 for the UK market... which I think is absolutely bullshit. With the way fuel prices are here, why would they not bother to bring it over in the F10 5-series officially?!

Cheers,
Grant

It's a diesel, only reason to buy a diesel is economy, it's not very economic, Harris makes a point of making that clear.

But compared to the equivalent petrol that's pretty good.
I'd guess the m5's doing about 5-6mpg flat out if that and this has equivalent torque(700 nM).

Nobody buys a big Beemer and expects good economy, but realistically this thing in normal driving will be no worse on fuel than a 320 petrol which is impressive for a big lump.

Was on the E46 forum the other day as I was umming and arring about getting a 318d MSport.
Many of them are driving 330ix's. I got abit confused seeing a thread about changing front driveshafts

But for the price you are paying you could have a decent petrol version and save thousands on the purchase price which negates the fuel savings. It's. Certainly not a diesel m5 either so that's not a consideration. I would say a 535 msport would save you a shit load of cash and be as quick in real life.
