I think the last uk spec 4wd system on a bmw (excluding the x3,5 & 6) was the old e34 525ix (mid 80's to early 90's)

20mpg flat out, what's the point?!?
Harris has driven one yesterday over on Pistonheads. Fuck buying one of those out of warranty. Packaging of turbos looks sexy as hell but I wouldn't want to pay for any problems.

I'd guess the m5's doing about 5-6mpg flat out if that and this has equivalent torque(700 nM).
Nobody buys a big Beemer and expects good economy, but realistically this thing in normal driving will be no worse on fuel than a 320 petrol which is impressive for a big lump.

But compared to the equivalent petrol that's pretty good.

big turbo diesesls do actually drive quite nicely.
and 20mpg flat our is bloody impressive when you consider an M3 will do that driving around town![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
whats it's average fuel consumption like?
