hi guys, had a look on the net but cant find the info i need

mate has just knackerd the enigne in his w reg clio 172 (cam belt )

now we need a replacement asap....theres one on ebay out of a 03 reg.

now the add says its 180bhp, now is this him just bigging it up or would this be one of the 182bhp engines????? dunno when they upped the power?

or does anyone know what they changed on them to get the extra 10bhp and if we could still use it?

I may know for a 172 engine in an accident damaged car if you need one

 

Cracking cars although they suffer with the usual shonky Renault build quality.

Renault did up the power to 182 so it is quite possible. Was on Top Gear not so long a go

 

Should just bolt in, the only differences AFAIK are inlet mods and magic box to give the extra bhp.

just found out that they didnt up it to 182 untill at least the end of 2003 so this one should be a 172

I take it replacing the bent valves isn't an option then??

 

did pretty much all the valves, 3 pistons, and scored the bore on number 3!

so no its pretty fucked
